This is because synthetic ropes are slippery and slide over surfaces very easily. This means they create incredible constriction forces and will actually crush the solid steel reel hubs in their winches like their TuffPlate Self-Locking Winch # DL14993. They can also jam the reel and drive gears together so tightly the winch will not turn.
I recommend using the Wire Cable...
