For something to be considered waterproof it has to be able to be submerged under water for a certain amount of time and not let any water inside. To that end, the Hopkins backup camera # HM50002 is not waterproof. But it can be used in the rain. I had one of these camera systems on a vehicle for years, rain, snow, and shine, and it worked perfectly the entire time I owned that vehicle.
