  • I spoke with my contact at Derale and he said the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504 is made in the USA. To install the Derale # D13504 cooler on your 2002 Ford F-250 7.3L diesel, you will also need the Derale Radiator Adapter Fitting, part # D13025. This adapter will allow you to connect the transmission cooler to the factory transmission cooler in your radiator tank without cutting or flaring of lines.   • Transmission coolers are not made out of stainless steel, they are made out of aluminum and copper because the cooler needs to transfer heat away from the transmission fluid and metal as quickly as possible and aluminum and copper are the most efficient metals for this process.
