Both the 30A # HU24FR and the 50A # HU57FR Hughes Autoformers have built in surge protectors so you won't need to have a separate surge protector installed. If the Autoformers does have to deal with a surge situation we have a replacement piece so you can get the surge protection back without having to replace the entire unit:
- 30A # HU86FR
- 50A # HU26FR

It sounds to me like there was a power surge that ran through your trailer and at minimum the fireplaces took too much voltage and blew. You can try disconnecting them from power for 15 minutes and then retesting them but it sounds like you most likely had them disconnected for a longer period of time. I'd be willing to bet other sensitive electronics (stereo, tv, etc.) could also potentially be damaged.
