I have included the image below from the 1999 Ford towing guide which you will need to match with the cab and axle ratio for your truck to get the exact 5th wheel towing capacity. view full answer...
No, not at all! You will be all good with the extra capacity. Since you have a Lippert 1621 pin box and you're looking to get a Gen 3 goosebox you will want the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter item # RP85FR.
You will also need the Reese Safety Chain Kit with Clevis Hooks item # RP49151. These are not included with the goose box but are legally required. view full answer...
Hey Mike,
The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY48GR requires 5/8 x 1-1/2" grade 8 bolts and nuts that need to be torqued to 160ft/lbs. You'll want to use a minimum of 4 bolts per side. view full answer...
Hey Lawrence,
That is correct, solar panels systems are simply to recharge the battery and wouldn't directly power anything. They'll run directly to the battery bank. The Zamp inlet you have most likely is just a 2-pole SAE connector with a positive and negative wire ran directly to the battery for you plug in a portable solar panel system. An Inverter takes power from your battery bank and increases it from 12v to 120v so that you can run larger appliances without shore/generator power.... view full answer...
