I would not recommend towing your 2011 Chevrolet HHR at an angle. You will want the tow set up to be as level as possible. For your situation I would recommend using a tow bar that attaches to a ball mount like the Roadmaster StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar, # RM-501, with a ball mount that has the correct drop.
