Installation of the Curt # 56073 on your 2007 Ford Freestar requires three relays and two 20 amp mini fuses. Carefully remove the fuse panel cover and insert the relays into 29, 30, and 31. Insert the fuses into positions 46 and 52. See the diagram from the instructions below. view full answer...
I spoke with a representative of Curt who told me that the screw that is included with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56673 that fits your 2007 Ford Freestar is not needed and it can just be thrown out. Usually a screw like this is included so it can be used for the ground wire, but # C56673 plugs in (see linked installation video) so why it was included with this kit is anybody's guess. view full answer...
Titan Chain Tire Chains # TC339DC meet DOT requirements in all states for any roadway on which chains are required and/or can be used but aren't required by law. There isn't a specific minimum or maximum snow depth for these chains. As far as speed goes most chains including these are rated for 30 miles per hour but if you have to use chains then it is possible that even 30 miles per hour is too fast! view full answer...
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56073 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2005 Ford Freestar only if it has the factory tow package. If you aren't getting any power at all to the connector then it's very possible that your vehicle is not equipped with the needed tow package wiring to power the factory connector behind the rear bumper so you'd need to go with # C56673 instead.
You can try testing the factory connector on the Freestar with the Curt harness... view full answer...
The plug on a 2006 Ford Freestar to install the Trailer Wiring Harness, # C56673, can be located behind the rear bumper near the spare tire. The plug should be connected to a gray protective cover mounted to the back of the bumper. If you see the cover but not the plug, it may be above the spare tire. This harness is designed for those vehicles that came with a factory tow package. I have included a link to the installation instructions for reference. view full answer...
