Installing the Curt Class II Receiver, part # C12068 on your 2000 Cadillac Eldorado would require no cutting, trimming or other modification in the rear bumper cover. According to the installation instructions, there will be a tab on the trunk pan that will need to be bent out of the way to prevent interference with the hitch. The aftermarket hitch offered for your 2000 Cadillac Eldorado, the 1-1/4-inch Curt Class II hitch # C12068, has a total tongue weight (TW) capacity of 350-lbs. It sounds like you might be trying to add a wiring harness to tow a trailer with your 1971 Cadillac Eldorado and there is not a custom harness for this vehicle, but you could use the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 60" Wire Lead # C58044 and hard wire one in. This would be the only available solution to accomplish this.
