  • To lower the exhaust on a vehicle when installing a hitch is not difficult if done correctly. The main thing is to lube the rubber hangars with WD-40 and that will allow the exhaust to be removed easily from the rubber hangars. I am including a couple of links to videos that will show you how we lower the exhaust in our installation facility.   • The installation instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11073, indicate that no modification of the vehicle rear bumper or rear fascia is required for installation of the hitch. Vapor canister will need to be removed and reattached for hitch installation. There is a possibility that the carbon canister hose may contact the hitch bracket.
