The Roadmaster StowMaster # RM-501 requires crossbar-style base plates. A complete setup for your 2003 Jeep Liberty will require a base plate kit, tow bar wiring, and a supplemental braking system. I'm not entirely sure what you own beyond the tow bar and the safety cables so I apologize if I'm listing something you already have. I recommend the following:

Hello Alan. The brake control harness on a 2012 Jeep Liberty with the factory tow package should be on the drivers side under the dash. If you are sitting in the drivers seat it will be kind of near where your left leg/knee would be. You will probably have to pry back a plastic panel and the wires may be wrapped in foam or electric tape. These wires are notoriously hard to find on some vehicles.
