I would recommend using a sealer so there is minimal chance of moisture seeping behind the light fixture. I recommend the TremPro 644 Silicone Sealant # 0160297. It creates a waterproof seal at seams between joined parts and adheres to nearly anything.
Be sure to remove any old silicone or adhesive to the area prior to the application of the new silicone. view full answer...
Hey Kenneth, this is a great question but what we have found is that currently more people are preferring to use VHB 3M tape followed by an adhesive sealant like the # AL43KV instead of drilling. This gives you a permanent install that is really solid that doesn't require having to find bracing to drill into and all that comes with that.
We do not carry the VHB tape at this time though. view full answer...
Your best bet is a special drill bit often called a screw extractor. One such product is called an EZ Out. These can be found at your local hardware store and are available in various sizes. They will bite into the stripped-out screw head and allow you to remove it and install a fresh screw. An application of an aerosol lubricant like WD40 is not a bad idea either as this will help to loosen up the old screw.
Once the old screws are out you can install your new Camco RV Baggage Door Catches... view full answer...
