I would be happy to help you set up your BMW X5 for towing with a brake controller but what you have suggested will not work. You would be combining the brake and turn signals on one circuit. Basically, every time you turned on your blinker you would send power back to the brakes. I went out to our warehouse to look at the Replacement Cam Lock Cylinder part # 295-000003. The internal cylinder rotates 90 degrees when engaged. I am not sure I know what you mean by rotation washer but the flat sides and jamb nut will keep the lock core in place. view full answer...
