The trailer wiring harnesses for your 1996 Chevy Caprice sedan, # C55347 from Curt and # HM11141185 from Hopkins are very similar. Both install and function the same way. About the only difference is the Hopkins harness comes with a little packet of dielectric grease. You could add dielectric grease # LT37534 if you wanted to go with the Curt harness.
