What's up, everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this ToyLok from Lippert. This is gonna be the hitch-mounted version. And what this is gonna be is a retractable cable lock that you can run through all your gear. Let's say you're camping, you need to leave the campsite just for a little bit. Maybe get supplies, or just go to a different section of the park.

You can run the cable lock through all your gear, lock it onto itself. That way, nobody's gonna mess with it when you're not around. Let's check it out. The main feature of the ToyLok is gonna be the cable lock itself. So it's gonna be 15 feet and it's gonna be braided steel with a PVC coating on the outside that helps protect it and your bikes.

So you see, we run it through the frame of our bikes. It is gonna rub up and down on that. You don't want that steel that's got that texture on there scratching off your bikes or whatever you decide to tie down. I don't want to scratch up the generator either. So this is gonna protect against that.

And it's just gonna be very useful for if you're camping, maybe you we're tailgating. You can also wrap this around your barbecue pit and some chairs you have. Just to lock 'em in place. Like I said earlier, just when you're not around, can you step away for a little bit You can quickly lock everything up and you don't have to throw everything back in your rig and then go. Look in the main structure itself.

You have a padlock that is included, and that's what locks the cable lock onto here. So you can't get it out there. So I'm just gonna use the key that comes with it, you get two of them. Unlock our padlock, and then remove it from the hole on the cable. And now we can bring our cable out. This is all 15 feet of the cable lock. Just wanted to show you and give you a better idea what you're working with here. Now you have two options when you go to lock it down. You can wrap it around and work it through the bikes and the generator, and go attach it to the housing and lock it up there. Or if you wanna just come out to the generator and, let's say, you're just locking it here, you could wrap it around itself and use a padlock like this. It'll still keep everything locked either way you do it. Now, I want to show you how it works. You're gonna hear some clicks as I pull it and that's gonna set it in the retract, just like that. And it pulls itself back in here. Now to pull it out, you're gonna hear a couple clicks and just let a couple of them go by and then stop, and then it'll hold itself. See right now, it still wants to retract, but I'm gonna come closer out. Now it doesn't retract any more. It has a nice pull to it. I don't have to walk it into myself. You can see how easily it's going back in there to the housing and this part rests right in there. So, it keeps it all nice and neat in here. And I like that I don't have to roll out that cable myself and find somewhere to store it. The whole construction is made out of nylon, it's heavy duty, it's got some heft to it. So I like to know that it's heavy. It's gonna hold up just in case you drop, it's not cheap plastic that's gonna just shatter when it hits the ground. And also, hopefully you can hear that too. It's nice and solid. I can't make it creak or anything or pry anything apart, I was trying. So that makes me think that it's gonna be just fine holding up. And now, if you also has the holes up here up top, that way, if you wanna permanently mount it to a trailer, you can, and it comes with the hardware to do so. So you just run it through here to permanently attach it to a trailer if you want to go through and run the cable lock through your lawn equipment or something like that. The way we have it attached today is via the hitch. So we've got it with the kit or this bracket, it's gonna mount to the lock assembly underneath via these bolts here, and they're specialty bolts, so that means you have a special tool it comes with to tighten it down. That way nobody can just come by and unscrew this and take this off, making it useless. So that's gonna protect it too, in the long run. And then once you have this bracket attached to the lock assembly, it'll slide into any two inch or inch and 1/4 hitch, giving you the options of if you have your rig or your regular vehicle you can use whatever hitch you have on you to lock up your stuff wherever you are. Now, I will say that it doesn't come with a hitch pin and I recommend getting a locking hitch pin, because that kind of defeats the purpose, if you can just pull the pin out and take this out. But we have some on our site. This is a locking hitch pin right here. So it's all locked up. Nobody can mess with it and take it out. Overall, I think it's a great lock to have. The things that I like right out of the gate is that it retracts into itself. So I don't have to roll up that cable lock, find somewhere to put it, also run through all my objects that we're gonna put everything away when I step away from my campsite. I can just run that cable real quick lock it and go do what I wanna do and then come back and unlock it. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out and I hope this helped..
