Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2017 to 2019 Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks, and on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this is a tailgate light bar, which will provide auxiliary tail, stop, turn, and backup light functions. It is designed to install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate, basically, between the tailgate and your bumper. This does use LEDs, which will produce a nice bright red or white light, which is based on which signal's being used.

Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bar works, but I first wanna go over some of the features of it. So I wanna zoom in and show you the light bar here. It uses COB, which is chip-on-board LED technology, that'll create a nice, bright, solid panel of light. The LED chips, if you noticed, are mounted close together for uniform high intensity light similar to a lighting panel. It does use a nice sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof, has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods, and also, if you see, it has a tinted polycarbonate housing, which will provide a nice sleek look when it's installed on your vehicle.

Now, this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors you need, and it even comes with this quick-connect custom fit wiring harness that'll plug into your existing light connections, and on the other end has this 4-way that'll plug into your light bar right here, so there's no cutting or splicing of wires. Again, the specs, the application is full-size trucks, the dimensions on this again, from one end to the other is 60 inches, it is only for 5/8 of an inch wide, 3/8 of an inch tall. And the thing I do wanna mention is when I turn on the lights, I want you to notice that when it goes into the backup mode, which will be the cool white color, it'll have an output of over 3,000 lumens, but I'll show you that when we hook this up. So right we got it all hooked up to some 12 volt power, so I'm gonna go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and with that, you'll see the light bar light up. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, and you can see the whole light bar has just a constant continuous row of red LEDs.

So basically, when your lights are turned on, your tail lights or running light function will be just like this, and then when you apply your brakes, you'll see this light bar also gets brighter just like your brake lights on your truck will. And then when you do your turn signals, you can see when you turn on your passenger's side turn signal, you'll get a row of red lights flashing for the turn signal, and then if you switch it to the driver's side, you can see that you'll get a row of red lights flashing for the driver's side turn signal. And then the last one would be the brake lights, which I was mentioning to you, so once you go into reverse in your vehicle and your brake lights come on, you'll see that the whole light bar lights up in a nice cool white color, and as we mentioned, output on it is over 3,000 lumens, so it will be sure to be able to let people know that when you go into reverse that they'll be able to see the backup light to let them know you're going in reverse. I'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power.
