Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Pacer Performance five piece LED cab roof light kit for the Ford trucks. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2017 to 2020 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and the F-550 trucks, and on a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this'll work for your application. Now, these lights, they're designed to look like the factory lights on your Ford trucks. These LED roof lights will make your vehicle more visible to traffic, and we mentioned, they do you use LEDs, and those LEDs make great replacements for the incandescent lights. The LEDs will last 50 times longer, they're more efficient, 'cause they'll provide brighter light with less power output, and of course, no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments that are gonna break.
These lights are a custom fit, so it will install on the roof of your vehicle, and the light bases are designed to conform and seal to flat or curved surfaces. You can see this set of lights has the smoke lens over it that'll cover the bright long lasting amber LEDs. At the end of this video, I am gonna hook this up to some 12 volt power to show you how bright the lights are. The set will include everything laid out here on the table, the five LED roof lights, the five washers, the wiring harness with the inline fuse holder, nice on and off switch, six quick splice connector, and a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. Now, what is nice is they include this small toggle switch, and this will make it easy to control the lights from inside your cab.
These parts did meet the SAE specifications. Give you a dimension on one of the lights. The length of it from one end to the other is right at 3 3/8 inches long, the width at the widest point, which will be in the front here, is about 1 7/8 inches wide, and the overall height, bottom to the top, it's about 1 1/4 inches tall. So what we're gonna do is you can see each light has two pigtails coming out, a red and a black wire, so it's a power and a ground. So let's go ahead and hook our 12 volt power up.
And then once we do that, I'll go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and you can see there's one of the lights lit up. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead light, and you can see how there's two LEDs per light, and you've got five lights here, so you can see how one of them will actually light up a pretty good area. So when you put these on your vehicle and wire them up, all five lights will come on. Gonna turn back on overhead lights and turn off our power. The folks at etrailer swiftly and efficiently shipped me out a new order after updating them.
Installation is easy as long as you take your time. The quality and appearance is good also.
Out of the box and after the install, I was somewhat happy with the product, but after just a couple months the amber cover over the center section blew off in a touch less carwash. I was able to find it and after contacting etrailer about a replacement, I was told I was out of warranty. Now I’m stuck with them and had to use silicone to hold it back together. Would not recommend this product. Wish etrailer would have had better customer service in this matter.
After reading reviews and BBB info on Recon, I decided to look elsewhere. I’ve dealt with etrailer before and they were good. They did not disappoint. Shipped fast, communicated with me well. Lights ship in their original packaging. Some reviews complained about package damage but mine was perfect. Lights look like they are a quality item. I haven’t installed them yet but everything needed is in there. I won’t be using the included splice connectors; I always solder everything.
Package came when they said. The Box was so smashed that I took photos of the package before I opened it. I thought there would be parts missing and lights would be smashed. All the parts where there and in ok condition. They need to send these out in a another box so they arrive in better condition.
NOT AS BRIGHT AS EXPECTED.
