Video Transcript for TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs Installation - 2014 Ram 3500

Today on our 2014 Ram 3500 we'll be installing the TorkLift Custom Frame Mounted Tie Down Bracket part number TLD3109. The set up will be for the rear tie-downs for an in-the-bed mounted camper. The application we're working on is an 8' bed with a factory installed hitch. To begin our install we're going to start here on the passenger side. We need to locate the two bolts that hold the bumper bracket to the frame. These two bolts go all the way through the frame and hold the bracket on both sides. We're going to go ahead and remove these two manufacturer's bolts and we'll hold on to them as they'll be reused to secure the bracket. With the two manufacturer's bolts out of the way we can take the passenger side bracket, set it into position, lining up the pre-drilled holes in our bracket with the holes in the frame.

I'm going to go ahead and take the frame bolts, slide them back into position, and just install them hand tight this time. A third attachment point will be on the inside of the frame bracket. We'll use the oval cut out hole in the frame bracket, lining it up with the pre-drilled hole in the tie-down bracket. Using the hardware provided we can secure this attachment point. To secure the third attachment point, or lower attachment point here, we're going to use the 1/2" x 2" long bolt provided with the install kit and the 1" x 2" plate washer. This will go through the oval slot, then into our tie-down bracket.

On the inside, to secure it, we're going to use two 1/2" flat washers, 1/2" split lock washer, and then a 1/2" nut. With all my hardware installed hand tight, we can go ahead and tighten it down and then torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. With our bracket installed and tightened down and secured here on the passenger side we'll move over to the driver side and repeat the process. Now with both sides installed, tightened down and torqued to specifications we can go ahead and install the receiver arm of the bracket into place. The receiver arm has two adjustment points for a longer, outside the body attachment point, or closer in. We'll put it on the closest to the body, install the pin and clasp and that will hold it in place. Once we have both sides installed this will complete the installation of our TorkLift Custom Frame Mounted Camper Tie-Down Brackets part number TLD3109 on our 2014 Ram 3500.
