Hello, everybody Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer.com, we install, test and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today we're going to be working on a 2021 Ford F450. We're going to be taking a look at and I'll be showing you how to install torque lifts, front camper tie downs. So it might be asking yourself, you know why do I need these Or what's the benefit to having the torque lifts camper tie downs over some of the other ones on the market And the short answer is, you're going to have to have these to use an in-bed camper. This is going to be a main attachment point for your camper.

Now, what really sets the torque lifts apart from some of the others is there's going to be no drilling. personally that's my favorite feature. And they're pretty adjustable. All we have to do is under this pin down here and we can slide our arm out and adjust it to the correct distance needed for our camper. Or if you do have a couple different campers that you like to use, you can make this work for either of those campers.

It's going to be a really good option for you. It also looks really nice on here. Another cool thing is when you're not using your camper you can simply take this out and it's essentially invisible. So if you're not using your camper, nobody's going to know it's there, but when you need it I simply just slide this in, add your pin and hit the road. Now these are going to be constructed out of steel.

So they're going to be nice and durable for a really long time. You're not going to have to worry about it. Now they really nice black powder coat finish to help resist rust and corrosion as well. So not only are they going to work good they're going to look really nice for a long time as well. Now I'm going to go ahead and give you a few measurements to help you understand where the tie-downs are going to sit on your vehicle from the ground to the outermost part of our tie-down is going to be about 18 and a half inches.

Now this does sit higher than the nerf bar. So ground clearance really isn't going to be that big of an issue. And then our first setting, we're going to have about six and a half inches from our tie down to our fender. And in our farther setting, we're going to have about 10 and a half inches from our tie-down to our fender. These are going to be vehicle specific. So they are going to be custom fit for your F450. So that's going to make mounting them up super simple. As I said, there's no drilling. They're just going to mount up to factory holes in your frame rail. Now, if you are using an in-bed camper, you're going to need front tie-downs and rear tie-downs. You can find rear tie down options here at etrailer.com. That being said, I'll go ahead and walk you through how to get it installed. Working on our passenger side, we're going to come to where our cab mounts to our chassis. We're going to have a couple brackets right here. And this is where our front camper tie downs gonna mount. Our mounting holes are all going to be right in this general area. We're going to have our oblong bigger hole here our skinnier oblong hole here. A round hole here and up towards the bed mount. We're going to have a round hole up there. Now we're going to start with our hole on the bottom. We're going to grab our fish wire. We're just going to take the coiled end, insert it through that hole in our frame rail and bring it out here on the bottom. Now we just want to grab the bottom, and kind of leave it like so. On the coil, then, we're going to add our spacer block, our star washer, and our provided hardware. Now we just want to grab this, and pull it up through our frame rail. Just like so, we're gonna repeat that same process for this hole, this hole up top, through this hole in the back. For our bottom hole, in our frame rail, we're actually using the reverse fish wire technique. We're going to slide our bolts in and then follow that up with our star washer and our spacer block. We're just going to pull that back through the bottom of our frame rail. Like so. For this hole in our frame rail we're just going to slide our fish wire through and then catch it down here on the bottom. Just like so. We repeat the same process, adding our spacer block, our star washer, and our bolt. And now we're going to grab our passenger side frame bracket. You can line up the holes on the bracket to match each side. We want to take our front fish wire and push that through our according hole. Kind of just lift that up and we'll add our fish wire to the other side and our fish wire to the bottom. I just want to lift our bracket up into place, pulling our fish wires. On the bottom we just want to unthread our pull wire or even just pull it off if you'd like. But you do want to save a couple for the other side. We're going to add a flat washer provided, a split lock washer, and our hex nut. Add our flat washer first. And then our split lock washer. You're kind of going to have to push up a little bit to add that hex nut. You can always push over on your washers to kind of hold that bolt from spinning to get that hardware started. Then for our two remaining bolts you just want to unthread your pull wire and save those for the other side. We're going to add hardware to this bolt and this bolt in the same orientation as the bottom. Now you just want to push up on your bracket try to line that hole up on the top. Then you can just get your hardware hand tightened that way it gives you enough room to get your hardware started on the top. Now, I just want to grab our other fish wire and feed that through the hole and our top of our bracket there. If you're having trouble doing that you can also take the coiled end and push it through like so, to then catch it on the back side and add your hardware. Now you just want to grab the other end of our pull wire. Kind of pull that up through our bracket. We might have to move your bracket to get everything to work. And we just want to add the same hardware to this bolt as they did the others. I just want to come back with a 19 millimeter socket and snug everything down. Now we're ready to come back and torque everything down. All of our torque specifications can be found in our instructions. With all of our hardware tightened and torqued down, we can move over to the other side and repeat the same process. However, our parking brake cable does run through here. So you do want to make sure that this is inside of your bracket whenever you do get it installed. And this is what I meant. You just want that opening to kind of be right here. So this is your brake line doesn't get interfered with by our bracket. To install our tie down arms, we're just going to slide these into place. We'll just line up our pin holes. We can take our retaining clip. Just slide that through. Just like so, now it's nice and secure. Do the same thing over on the passenger side. So everything tightened down and our arms installed, we're now ready to load up our in bed camper and hit the road. That's going to do it for our look at the installation of the torque lift front camper tie-downs on our 2021 Ford F450..
