How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the WeatherTech ImpactLiner on our 2020 Ford F-150. Generally speaking, when you own a pickup truck and you actually use your truck, it's a great idea to protect the finish of your bed against scratches, scrapes, and all the things that can damage it, and that's when having a liner is gonna come in handy. The ImpactLiner is very sturdy to protect your bed. WeatherTech uses a laser measuring system to match all the contours of your bed, and that's one of the cooler things about the WeatherTech products in general. They're gonna be an exact fit once it actually settles in. We just pulled this one out of the package so it hasn't quite settled, but if you give it a little bit of time, it'll lay flat and flush with all the contours of your bed.
WeatherTech actually has these suction cups underneath, and essentially what it does it grips your bed and at the same time creates a channel for airflow and water to flow for when you get moisture underneath your liner to keep it from pooling up, and it also works in creating a little bit of distance for when you have to drop something heavy in the bed. When you take your ImpactLiner out of the packaging from the factory, sometimes it can kind of curl in a little bit, and that's completely normal from the material. If it's a warmer time of year when you're making your purchase, if you lay it out in the sun, that's gonna help the material to relax. Alternatively, you can find some heavy things, like I use these big wrenches that we have around the shop, and just give it a little time and it'll relax and conform to its molded shape. The final part of your installation when you actually get everything situated and your mat settled is installing the retention clip.
Essentially what it is is adhesive that you're gonna clean up using your alcohol swab, and you're gonna stick that on the back of your bulkhead, and you're just gonna be able to snap it together, (clip snapping) and this is what's gonna hold the bed mat in place. Now we're gonna install the retention system here. You already have an outlined circle, and you just grab your box cutter or knife, and you'll be able to make an indention, and you just wanna be cautious to watch your finger, and once you get it started it really just pretty much rips off. Here you're gonna take your alcohol wipe and just clean your surface off to make sure you get good adhesion. It's a great idea to just kind of take your time to make sure you get it right the first time.
Then you're gonna remove the backing and align it with the hole in your liner and then just press against your bed. Once you have that set up, you're just gonna grab your cap and snap it into place, (clip snapping) and now you're locked in. Overall, the ImpactLiner is a great addition if you're looking for a solution that was not permanent to protect your bed. Alternatively, we do offer a wide variety of different bed mat liners here at etrailer.com, and for that best option, give our customer service a call. They'll be able to guide you to the correct solution that's gonna help you for the long haul.
So again, this is Ed here with etrailer.com taking a look at the WeatherTech ImpactLiner on our 2020 Ford F-150. Have a great day.
