Video Transcript for Review of Viair EVC Rechargeable Portable Tire Inflator - VA88JR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Viair EVC rechargeable portable tire inflator. Now with this every vehicle carry, or EVC, rechargeable inflator, you're never gonna have to worry about getting stranded on the side of the road again due to a flat tire. This cordless inflator uses a rechargeable lithium battery to inflate your tires. This is going to be great to have on hand for your car and motorcycle tires, bicycle tires, and inflatable toys and sports balls. And this includes attachments for filling your bike tires and those inflatable toys and your sports balls.

This does include a presta valve adapter, a long nozzle here, and then your needle-shaped nozzle. And to power this on, it's gonna be very simple. We have a start button here in the center. You're just gonna hold that in until the display comes on. And then this is going to be ready to go.

And as you can see here, let me see if I can bring this closer here for you so you can see. This does feature a really nice large LED digital display that's going to show you quite a few things. Hopefully, you can see right here, this is going to show the pressure unit that's currently set at PSI. And then over here, we do have our battery indicator. And then here, we have our actual tire pressure.

And obviously, that's set at zero right now because we are not plugged into a tire. And then right here we have our tire pressure set value and I have that currently set for 50 PSI. And then we have our inflation mode indicators. And right now this icon here, it's a person, and this is going to be our individual mode. And I'm gonna go through those modes here.

This features five customizable inflation modes with intelligent memory to accommodate specific inflation requirements. Now each mode has a default pressure value from the factory, but it can be customized. So as I mentioned, right now we're on our individual mode, and the default air pressure value can be adjusted from 3 PSI all the way up to 120 PSI. Now the display will go all the way up to 150 PSI, but the recommended maximum pressure is 120 PSI. So as you can see, I'm pressing the minus button and then the plus button and that's going to allow me to change my tire pressure set value. Now moving through the different modes here, we have our mode button right here. So I'm gonna press that, and that's gonna take us to our car mode. It's got a little car icon here, that's defaulted to 36 PSI, but again that can be adjusted. And then we have our motorcycle mode, and that default from the factory is 35 PSI. And then the bicycle mode indicated by the bicycle icon, this is set at 45 PSI. And then our ball mode is preset at 8 PSI. So I'm gonna go ahead and change that back to our individual mode. And I have that set at 50 PSI. So again, all of those PSI's can be adjusted to where you would like it. And then wherever you set the pressure to, this is going to remember that last setting. This has an intelligent memory that's going to automatically memorize those preset values for each mode the next time you power this on. I did want to point out that this also includes an LED light on the top of the inflator. And this button right here is going to turn that on. And so that's going to help illuminate this hose and your tire valve when your inflating in low light or dark conditions. It's a small light, but it's pretty bright. And this does have, the light itself has different modes. So right now, it's set for constant, but then we also have a flashing option, and then a strobe option. So that's a nice feature that's built-in, constant, flashing, and then strobe. So you're not gonna be left out in the dark when you need to use this in low light conditions. This will automatically shut itself off after about a minute and a half or so. But if you want to turn this off, just hold down that start button again and then that's going to turn off. Now this battery charges with the included USB-C to USB-A charging cord. And so our port here is at the top. And so you'll plug in the USB-C end of that cable at the top and then plug in that USB-A, whether it be a USB-A port in your vehicle or another way that you can. Another area where you can charge that, this is gonna be very convenient to charge. It takes about three and a half hours to fully charge, and the battery capacity is 2.5 amp hours. Now I wanna give you a brief demonstration of how easy this is to use and how quickly this will inflate. So over here on this side of my studio, I do have a tire and wheel assembly. So let's walk over there. And as you can see, this hose can be removed if you so desire, or when you're not using it, it will store in this port right here. So right now, this is in the stored position. I'm gonna go ahead and remove this. And then we have our tire valve here. And so I'm gonna go ahead and simply screw this on. And then that's gonna be how easy it is to connect. I'm gonna hold down my start button here. That's gonna power the unit on. And as you can see, this is telling me that I have 48.5 pounds of air in this tire, 48.5 PSI. Hopefully, you can see that. And so this needs to be at 50. This is a trailer tire, an ST205/75R14. So this needs to be a 50 PSI. So I'm gonna go ahead and press my start button. The hose length here is about 5.5 inches long. And this has a maximum runtime of 30 minutes. And depending on your tire size, from 20 to 30 PSI, airing this up from 20 to 30 PSI, it's gonna take about 3.5 minutes. And from 30 to 40 PSI, almost 4 minutes. And this does have an auto shutoff that's going to prevent over inflation to ensure safety. So this is going to hit 50 here pretty soon. And then it's going to run just to make sure that it's holding there at 50 PSI and it's gonna automatically shut off. just like that. So that's how quickly it operates and how easy it's going to be to use. So I'm holding at 50, it's shut off. I'm gonna go ahead and disconnect my hose, and it's as simple as that. I do wanna point out that our air hose will be a little bit warm after inflation. So let's go back to our table here. Let me give you some overall measurements. So I'm gonna go ahead and put our hose back in the storage position there. And let me go ahead and retrieve my ruler here and just give you some overall measurements so you have a good idea of the size. Looking at the overall height, we're sitting at about 6 1/4 inches tall. The overall width, we're sitting at about 2 3/4 inches wide. And then the overall depth, we're sitting about 1 7/8 inches deep. So it's a very handy size. It weighs about two pounds. And it has this really nice carry bag that's gonna hold not only your inflator, but it has an additional pocket here that's sewn in to hold your attachments, your charging cord. Instructions are also included to walk you through in a little bit more detail all the features that we covered. And really this is a great item to have in your car, to have on hand, especially as the temperatures turn colder, sometimes the low pressure indicator will turn on in your car, meaning you lost a little bit of air in your tire when the temperature's gone down. So you don't have to worry about running to a gas station. You can pull this out and use it in your driveway, use it in your garage, and then your tires will be where they need to be when you make your way to work or wherever else. You're not gonna have to worry about a heavy compressor, spending money, or waiting in line at a gas station to use their compressor. This is going to be always ready on hand. It's gonna be really convenient and quick to use as well. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Been looking for a super-handy, super-simple pump like this for some time. Grabbed one just in time for a call from my wife as she started a road trip with 4 hours ahead of her, and 4 low pressure tires in single digit temps. My hands, ears, fingers and toes were happy to see how well this little pump added 5-10psi in each tire as I sat in the warm car while the pump took care of it's work. Been using it regularly now on my Yukon with a tire needing a valve replacement when I can get around to it. -also helps on the way to soccer practice. The kids can easily operate it, saving me the time as we walk up to the field.. and no guessing on too firm or not. Cycling season is ahead of me and expect it'll save me some time there as well at the trailhead. Battery has performed well and charges easily off my vehicle usb charge. Two thumbs up on this one.

Pros: Small - easy to transport, easy to use. Cons: Not the fastest or most powerful. Comes with short hose and short USB cable. You can also purchase a 30 inch long hose for it which I am waiting on. Love that it has 5 different applications and you can preset the PSI to match.
