Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the replacement snow deflector for your V snow plow or V plow snow plow. So this is just going to be that top rubber deflector. That's the finishing touch for the scoop of that plow, as the snow comes up, it hits the deflector, and brings it back down so it doesn't overflow onto the rest of our plow, so it keeps everything in order. Now that is going to be rolled up whenever you get it, so you're going to have to stretch it out. Probably the best way to get this to relax is to lay it out in the sun for a little while and it should ease down.
You might have to roll it out, put some weights on it, something heavy to get it to stay, and then like I said, after a few hours in the sun, it should relax into it's flattened shape. But as far as the material, so you can see it's a nice thick rubber. It does have some reinforcement in there. It looks like it has some cord, so it should be a pretty durable piece, should be that direct replacement for your plow. I'll give you some measurements to make sure that this is going to be the right fit for you. So the thickness is going to be three eighths of an inch.
The total height or the distance from here to there, is going to be about nine inches and the total length is going to be 45 and three quarters of an inch. As far as the mounting holes or getting this in place, you will have to provide the hardware on your own. So either reuse the hardware on your plow or pick up some new screws to go with this or maybe some bolts and nuts. The mounting holes are going to be pretty wide, so I'll give you a measurement for those as well, to make sure that you can pick up the right hardware for that.So those holes look like they're about a half inch in diameter. So you want to have a pretty big bolt or at least a nice big fender washer to disperse that weight out.
If you don't already have one, maybe a plate to go at the top to give you something to let that hardware bite into rather than just going directly into the rubber, which could maybe waddle out over time. But this is made in the USA and that's about all there is to it. For our look at the replacement snowplow deflector for your V plow. Again, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
