Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the Inno Quick Base System. Now, the quick base system is a modular system with different components. And the concept is if you want to put your gear on your roof, your hitch, or in your hatch, you can do so. The specific kit we're gonna be taking a look at today, though, is going to be the Inno Gear Carry Box, which is six cubic feet large, and it is mounted to the quick base frame. Here at etrailer, I reviewed each specific component of the Quick Base System.

So if you're curious about details like material, some features, check out their full length review videos here on our websites. But this is going to be the portable and compact kit. You have your really oversized suitcase that can be mounted very quickly to your roof. With this being the frame, you then have a lightweight quick base. So just like that, you're then able to grab your gear carry box.

This box has wheels on it, as well as a handle so that you can bring it anywhere you want to go. And then when you're ready to go back and hit the road, it's just a matter of fitting it up and onto your roof and locking everything in place. (clamps clack) How much can you carry with this kit Well, your cargo capacity is limited to the box cargo capacity, since your base frame is just a frame for your box. So this does have a weight capacity of 110 pounds, and then you have six cubic feet of space. For your interior dimensions, there's gonna be a width of 22 inches and three quarter inch, and that's gonna be measured from the inside of your box.

And then for the length, hinge to hinge, that's gonna be 37 inches and three quarter of an inch. Your height is going to be 10 inches. So all that paired together makes for what is an oversized suitcase, according to most airlines. And you will have 84 linear inches of space it takes up. A quick summary of if this will fit your vehicle is ideally you'll have a crossbar that has T tracks.

So then, we have T track bolts that fit into those channels. And, as long as your crossbar system is no more than 33 inches and 13 sixteens of an inch apart, this is going to fit your roof. This is gonna make for a very sleek and low profile, open frame base. Now if you're looking for something that can also be used as a basket or a tray when the box is not on there, that's when you look at the Inno Quick Base Tray. It looks similar, slightly less crossbar spread that it can fit on, but it can also work as a platform for your other, larger oversized cargo. That one is gonna be at a slightly higher price point, though, so if you just want the quick base feature without paying extra for features you're not gonna use, that's where the frame comes in handy. The concept of this box is that it's your cargo box that goes with you. So rather than having to pack and unpack your rooftop cargo box, you can just use this wherever you go. Now, when you're done with your trip, you're ready to hit the road again, what you need to do is lift this onto the base. If you're maximizing the 110 pound weight capacity, I do recommend having two people lift this and each person lifts it by the flange. And that's gonna be a good spot because there is double support there since the sides overlap. If you're lifting this on your own, you can utilize the handle on the side, that works kind of like a briefcase handle. Whichever method you pick, just lift this up, onto the base, and slide it forward. (box rattling) It fits into place very easily, so that you can get your brackets, push that up, push the locks up as well. And then use the included key to lock it. One and two. Now, the thing though with this kit is that it is likely that your locks will not be keyed alike. So you may get keys for the base that are different from the keys included with the box. It can be a little extra hassle to have to keep track of two keys. So what some people do is that they utilize the airport box function. So you have this key cover included with your box. You can use this to cover the key in the unlocked position, like that, and then it screws into place at the top. And that way, when you're using this in the airport, you can attach a TSA padlock, the small airport lock, that will secure the button and prevent it from opening. So that is an option for you, if you just want to use different keys. Either way, you're gonna have to keep track of both keys. An interesting thing about the Inno Quick Base System is that it's great for very specific situations. So if you're just looking for a general expansion of your cargo area, somewhere to put all your things, getting a rooftop cargo box might be a better solution for you, especially since a lot of them have relatively easy to use clamps. But none of them have the same quick release system that our Inno Quick Base has. I definitely see this being awesome for those situations where maybe you need to spend the holidays somewhere and you don't wanna have to always load and unload your vehicle. Maybe you're someone that travels a lot, and you need to take your suitcase with you and make it easy to mount and dismount. So those specific situations are awesome. This kit is gonna be great for its versatility, for what roof racks it can be mounted to, as long as they have T tracks. Plus, it's very lightweight and portable. It is gonna be at a lower price point compared to the tray. So if you don't need the tray's extra cargo capacity, then this might be a great fit for you.
