Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the K Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the driver's side-view mirror on your 2016 through 2018 Toyota Tacoma. It is modeled after the Tacoma's original look, and fit. You're really not going to be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror.

It's going to look like it came with your vehicle right from the factory blended nicely, so not going to draw a heads or attention or anything like that. It should work very well for you. Like your original mirror, this does have a lot of the same features. It's got the power remote capability, so it can adjust your mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle. It's also going to have the heated mirror glass, so it will clear away your frost, and ice help reduce any sort of fogging in the mirror.On the back it's also going to have that amber light that will flash when you have your turn signal activated.

Keep in mind all those functions are dependent upon your vehicle. This mirror is not going to add those features to your vehicle, if it doesn't already have it, but if you already have those features of the smear, we'll still let you use those. There are a few things that this mirror will not do. It does not have the puddle light that shines down on the ground, outside your vehicle. It's also doesn't have the spotter mirror, and it is not compatible with the blind spot detection system in your vehicle.

You will lose a little bit of functionality there, but again it's going to look very similar to your original. As far as appearance, it will blend in nicely, but you will lose a little bit of that functionality versus your original mirror.This mirror is an OE grade. It's going to be the same quality materials as your original. It's got a flat glass, so it's going to represent the true object size behind you. You're not going to have to worry about a warping or distortion, and you can see it's got the reflective chrome on the front.

It's going to give you a nice, clear image so you can see all those objects, vehicles, people behind you, and whatever the case may be. It does have the breakaway design. If you we're to back into the garage for a pole parking posts, anything like that, the mirror is going to fold in so that it reduces the risk of damage to the mirror itself, and it'll just kind of tick itself in.Just a little bit of a safety measure there. You can see it's got a very durable black plastic housing, and the backside does have a chrome finish to it. It's going to look very nice. As far as the installation, it's going to be extremely easy, and it's going to mount into the same place that your original mirror did. Basically, all you have to do is take your old one off, and get this one plugged in. It's going to use the same wiring harness, and the same mounting holes. It should be very easy to get installed.For those of you who do like the details.
