Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this K Source replacement side view mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for the driver's side factory mirror on your 2010 through 2013 Acura MDX. This is modeled after your Acura's original look and fit so you really shouldn't be able to tell that it's a replacement mirror. Should look like it came with your Acura right from the factory, so you don't have to worry about that pieced together from the junkyard sort of look, it's gonna give you a nice complete finished look again, and it is going to have the same footprint and mounting points as your factory mirror, so you're not gonna have to do any drilling to get this installed. So it is gonna be as simple as unplugging your old mirror, taking that off, plugging the new one in, and then getting it attached with those same mounting points.

This will plug right into the existing electrical wiring for your vehicle and that's going to give you that power remote capability so you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls inside your vehicle. It's also gonna give you the heated mirror glass, it's gonna help clear frost, and ice, and reduce fogging. On the backside here, we do have our amber light that's going to flash when the turn signal is activated. This does also have the memory function, so your car's computer will recognize preset mirror positions and can adjust it that way, but keep in mind all of those capabilities, the power remote, the heated mirror glass the turn signal, and the memory function will only work if your vehicle already has those functions, this won't add those capabilities to a vehicle that doesn't already have that capability. Now, this is an OE-grade product.

The front of the glass is plated with a reflective chrome, so it's gonna give you a nice clear image. It's got a flat lens, so it's going to give you a true representation of the object size, and so if you're changing lanes, or backing up, you'll be able to see that and be safe. It does have that blue tinting on the lens, it's gonna help reduce glare, so if you're driving at night you won't have to worry about headlights shining into your eyes and that sort of thing. It's got the breakaway design so the mirror will fold in on itself if you we're to run into the side of your garage or a parking post or something like that, it's gonna do that to help absorb some of that impact and deter any breakage, but this does have a durable plastic housing with this black finish, and this can be painted to match your vehicle. If your other side view mirror is painted, I give it that fully integrated look, you can do that, and for those of you who do need a little bit more reassurance that this is going to work with your Acura, this is going to replace the model number that you see on the screen there, so if you're going through your owner's manual, or when you pull off the original mirror, if you see that number anywhere, you can trust this is going to be the replacement that you need.
