Today we're going to be taking a look at part number KS61023F. This is the K-Source replacement side mirror. It's going to fit certain years and models of the Ford F-150 and F-250 pick-up trucks. The side view mirror is a direct replacement for the passenger side factory mirror on your vehicle. It is going to be modeled after the manufacturer's original look and fit. It's also going to feature power remote capability.
You've got the plug right here that plugs into the existing electrical wiring, that way you can adjust the mirror face position with the factory power controls from inside the vehicle. We're going to have the OE grade convex glass with full surface plating. That's going to reflect clear images. It's going to be plated with a reflective chrome, and that lens is going to provide a nice wide-angle view that's going to help reduce blind spots. This mirror does feature a breakaway design. That way, when the mirror gets hit, or if you hit something with you mirror, it'll either fold in towards the vehicle, or out away from the vehicle, which is going to prevent permanent breakage or damage. We're going to have the durable, black, plastic housing.
The cover can be painted to match your vehicle, if you desire. It's an easy, no drill installation. It's going to have the same footprint and mounting points as your factory mirror. The mirror is going to plug into the existing electrical wiring with he plug right here. The original equipment, or OE number, is F85Z17682FAA.
With this part number, you're going to get one passenger side mirror and the necessary mounting hardware. Another thing we need to mention, is that the power remote capability of this mirror will work only if your vehicle already has that function. Would the quality match the original?
How difficult would it be to install?
Could I swap the original mirror back for the one on this mirror (to match my truck color)?
After installing the mirror here are my conclusions:
I am very pleased with the apparent quality of the mirror. It appears to be at least equal to the original. I will have to see how it lasts, but so far it looks great.
I easily found some YouTube videos that did a good job showing how to install side mirrors. I was able to follow the videos to get the job done. Although the videos showed complete removal of the door panel, I found I could just leave everything connected and rotate the door out from the bottom edge enough to do the job. The only reason I had to do anything with the door panel was to disconnect and then reconnect the mirror electric control.
I found I could not swap my original mirror back (in the color of my truck) for the one that is used on the replacement mirror because the connecting tabs are different. My options are to paint the back or buy and install the matching driver side replacement mirror (Item # KS61024F).
The bottom line is I am very happy with the mirror and the service I received from eTrailer. It was less than 1/5 the cost of a replacement mirror from my local Ford dealer (without installation) and appears to be just as good.

Not so good. Soon after writing the review I noticed it jiggled quite a bit. Then, this year, driving an a gravel road, the base kracked. Now it really jiggles. Maybe thats why they dont cost more. Naturally, I would not buy them again.
