Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the K Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a manually remote-operated mirror face, so we use that little joystick there to adjust our mirror from inside our vehicle to eliminate any blind spots. This is going to be for the passenger side and it's a custom fit for our 2012 through 2016 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback and for the 2012 through 2020 Chevrolet Sonic sedan. So should match up exactly what the original footprint for your Sonic. Just remove the bolts here and remove the original hardware on that mirror. This guy should pop right in place, no drilling required.

Pretty easy install.The mirror face is going to be a convex design, so it's going to give you a wider field of view, which is typical for your passenger side to make sure that you don't have any blind spots there. And then it also has a breakaway design so you can fold that in against your vehicle and eliminate any issues if you're on a narrow street or parked in a narrow parking garage or something like that. Or if anything happens to strike that, it should fold in towards your vehicle rather than breaking off.This is going to have a cover made of a durable plastic housing and this can be painted to match your vehicle if you would like to do that. I would suggest doing that whenever the cover is off. It's kind of tricky to get this off without cracking or breaking it, but if you're just patient and take your time, there should be some little tabs in there to lift out to remove that and then once it's removed, it's pretty easy to paint.

Otherwise, if you try to paint it while it's installed, it's just going to be a lot trickier to make sure that you don't get any over-spray on the rest of the mirror, so it's up to you there.Again, this is going to be for the passenger side, but if you need the driver's side, that's also available here at etrailer.com using part number KS62788D.
