Video Transcript for WeatherTech Side Window Air Deflectors Installation - 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Today on this 2015 Toyota Tacoma we're going to be showing you the WeatherTech Air Deflectors with Dark Tinting for the front and the rear, part number WT82389. With these window air deflectors not only do you reduce the wind noise, but you promote better air circulation inside your vehicle without letting any elements in. These air deflectors have a nice sleek design and actually make it look like it's part of the vehicle. These are very easy to install. No tools required. No external adhesives needed.

These are also very durable with a 3-mm-thick acrylic construction. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the air deflectors we're going to show you how they install. It's very easy. The first step is to actually clean the tops of the windows. You don't want to use any harsh solvents or anything like that. Just a little soapy water will do.

Now we're ready to install our deflectors. To install these you want to leave the windows rolled down to right about this area here. I'll go ahead and start with the front window. Take our deflector and set it inside the sill down here, making sure that the edge here fits the bottom of the window well, right here. Then we'll bend it and get it to fit in the other side of the sill here.

Lift it up until there is about 1/2" or 1/4" of a gap up here. Then we'll just twist outward and then inward to tuck it in throughout the rest of the window until it fits properly like so. With that set inside the sill what we're going to do next is we're going to roll the window up and down five times to ensure that it actually sits inside the window sill properly. You may hear a little bit of snapping and popping. That's nothing to be worried about. It's just this setting exactly where it needs to go.

Let's go ahead and do that now. I'm going to do this nice and slow each time. After the fifth time you want to make sure you leave it closed for last 12 hours just to ensure proper seating inside the window sill. With our rear window it's just slightly different as this actually has adhesive strips that you'll pull off and put them into place. I'll go ahead and do that now. When you install this you'll kind of do an offset so it fits in properly. Push up and then pull outward, to ensure that that adhesive sticks to the inside of the window well. You can do this for a couple of seconds just to be certain. When you feel that it's ready again you're going to roll up and down the window 5 times and then leave it up for 12 hours to ensure the adhesive sets and that it sets in the right place inside your window. There you have it for the WeatherTech Air Deflectors with Dark Tinting, front and rear, part number WT82389 on our 2015 Toyota Tacoma.Speaker 2: You can find this and everything else right here at etrailer.com. WeatherTech make great products. The window air deflectors or fantastic. Easy and fast to install. They look and work great on my truck. I love to leave my windows crack in the hot summer and not worry about it raining inside my truck.
I also had great service with etrailer.com fast shipping at great price. I have had these on my truck for a year and still look great with no problems.

Didn't know how awesome these were. Definitely a good buy. It does create wind noises, but not unbearable. Rolling windows up and down also caused slight noises at the initial rolling.

First bad experience with a WeatherTech product. Do not recommend for 2010-2014 Ford Expedition or similar models. I see 4 flaws.

3 of 4 pieces cracked at the corner even when I tried to be as gentle as possible in incrementally raising windows once installed. It seems to be just a few millimeters too oversized.

Second, Rear windows will not raise all the way back in place due to thickness of plastic, it stops. You have to push windshield up while holding the switch.
I was worried that this force would damage the window tint due to excess friction and it may push the rubber out to the point it would be damaged if I took them off months or years later.

Third, and arguably the most important. Too much wind noise. The Ford Expedition is very quiet for an SUV. I tried these for close to a week and I had to take them off. It sounded like gusty wind noise even when there was no wind other then the vehicle going through the air. I removed them and the SUV was quiet again.

Four, It isn't optically correct. Hard to see in the photo, but when looking at the area between the A pillar and side mirror, it's wavy and distracting. Also makes the A pillar appear much larger when it's darker outside due to the tint.

So even though they look nice, and you can crack your windows in the rain if your car is sitting still or you never exceed 50 mph... I wasn't able to get comfortable with the above issues. I can't return them since I installed them and tried them. But hopefully someone else can benefit from this.

It’s still early. I did the upgrade while in a walking boot (cannot drive) due to an Achilles rupture. So I can only comment on the install, which was much easier on the back windows. The front windows were a little awkward but eventually went in. I don’t like the ‘clunk’ as the window closes in the last inch or so. The window comes in contact with the deflector and clunks. I hope the plastic heats / cools and reforms as it sits over the next few days. Otherwise I like the look and finish, it’s just the fit which I’m not completely convinced off yet.

by:

These weather tech side window rain guards are really well made. Front ones installed easily and allow us to crack open the windows even in the rain. I could not for the life of me install the rear ones, or I would have given them 5 stars.

by:

Had to deal with tape for the REAR window installations as design called for it, unlike the FRONT windows. Hope they stay in place. One front window wants to hit the guard and am hoping the heat of the day may help it fit better. All said & done -- believe Weather Tech is the best car rain guard product on the market.

by:

The front rain guards fit my 2023 Passport perfectly. The rears weren't setting correctly in the window seal and neither rear window would roll up completely. Also, when I remove the two rear rain guards, I noticed the thinnest part, which is supposed to go between the window seal and the glass had broken in use. I have no patience for this, so I threw the rears in the trash. In retrospect, I'd have have rated these a 5 if I'd only purchased the fronts.

by:

I put these window deflectors on my 2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT. I love the look it gives on my car, and the option it gives me when it is raining to roll down my window. I would give this a 5-star rating and 100% recommendation

by:

I didn't know how much I would love these rain guards until I finally bought and installed them. Install is easy. etrailer shipping quickly. It's been a year and they have held up to the sun and rain, and look brand new still. They work GREAT. Highly recommend!

by:

Helps keep the vehicle cooler in the heat. Easy installation.

by:

Love these, much better than the ones that stick to the outside of the door frame. They tuck in nice and sleek, are great for keeping the rain out. Put them on all my cars now.

by:

They wouldn’t stay on the front windows with the window rolled down, the drivers side blew off, so I removed the passenger side. The rears are snug 2018 lexus gx 460.

by:

Love the rain guards.

by:

by:
