With its all-aluminum body and multi-fin design, this replacement fan clutch offers superior functioning.
Features:
The fan clutch is an important component of most belt-driven fan systems. It ensures that that the fan is engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate airflow to your vehicle's cooling system. When sufficient airflow is present, as is usually the case when your vehicle travels at high speeds, the clutch will disengage the fan to save on power, removing that additional load from your engine so that it may run more efficiently.
A thermal fan clutch relies on a thermostatic coil to read the under-hood temperature. When the temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional airflow for the cooling system. If the temperature drops to a set level, the fan will then disengage to save on power and decrease the load against the engine, thus allowing your vehicle to run more efficiently.

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Derale thermal fan clutch with reverse rotation. Now, this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 1998 to 2002 Honda Passport with the 3.2 liter V6 engine and also fits the 1998 to 2004 Isuzu Amigo and Rodeo with the 3.5 liter V6 engine. On a custom fit part like this, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work for your application.
Now, the fan clutch is an important component of most belt-driven fan systems. Basically it ensures that the fan is engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate air flow to your vehicle's cooling system. When sufficient air flow is present, as usually the case when your vehicle's at high speeds, the clutch will disengage the fan to save on power, removing the additional load from your engine so that it may run more efficiently. And a thermal fan clutch relies on this thermostatic coil right here to read the under hood temperature. Basically, when the temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional air flow for the cooling system.
And if the temperature drops to a set level, the fan will then disengaged to save on power and decrease the load against the engine, allowing your vehicle to run more efficiently. This clutch here is a nice aluminum construction, allows maximum heat dissipation. You can see the multi fin design of it transfers greater volume of air to dispel more heat. Now, it does use a nice heavy-duty bearing with the high temperature Moly grease, creates a more durable, higher functioning clutch. And this clutch is a reverse rotation design, and what that means is if you're standing at the front of the car, looking at the engine, this will rotate counter-clockwise.
And this part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Derale thermal fan clutch with reverse rotation..
