With its all-aluminum body and multi-fin design, this replacement fan clutch offers superior functioning.
Features:
The fan clutch is an important component of most belt-driven fan systems. It ensures that that the fan is engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate airflow to your vehicle's cooling system. When sufficient airflow is present, as is usually the case when your vehicle travels at high speeds, the clutch will disengage the fan to save on power, removing that additional load from your engine so that it may run more efficiently.
A thermal fan clutch relies on a thermostatic coil to read the under-hood temperature. When the temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional airflow for the cooling system. If the temperature drops to a set level, the fan will then disengage to save on power and decrease the load against the engine, thus allowing your vehicle to run more efficiently.

Today we're going to take a look at the Derale thermal fan clutch with reverse rotation. Now, this is a custom fit part. It does fit many different Dodge, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Land Rover vehicles starting in 1992. What I would recommend, because it fits so many different vehicles, is go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this fan clutch is an important component of most belt-driven fan systems. It'll ensure that the fan is engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate air flow to your vehicle's cooling systems.
Basically, once sufficient air flow is present, as usually the case when your vehicle travels at high speeds, this clutch will disengage the fan to save on power, removing that additional load from your engine so that it may run more efficiently. This one is a reverse rotation design and we'll go counterclockwise. This is a thermal model which engages the fan based on the under hood temperature. Insuring air flow when cooling is most necessary. A thermal fan clutch relies on this thermostatic coil right in here to read the under hood temperature. Basically, when that temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional air flow for the cooling system, and if the temperature drops to a set level, the fan will then disengage.
It saves on power, decreases the load against the engine, allowing your vehicle run more efficiently. This clutch is an aluminum construction, allows for maximum heat dissipation. You can see it has a multi-fin design, so it transfers greater volume of air to dispel more heat, and it uses a heavy duty bearing with a high temperature molly grease to create a more durable, higher functioning clutch. You notice it does come with the four screws here to install this, and this part is made in the USA. But that should do it for the review on the Derale thermal fan clutch with the reverse rotation..
