Specs:
Need extra light over your camper kitchen sink for when you do the dishes? Or perhaps you need to upgrade the dim, old lights in your enclosed trailer? This dome light has warm white LEDs that give you brighter light underneath a kitchen cabinet, in a walkway, above a shower stall, or inside a small trailer space. And the sonically sealed housing and lens are waterproof so water won't leak in and damage the LEDs.
LEDs are more energy efficient, last longer, and burn brighter than lights with incandescent bulbs. You won't have to worry about replacing bulbs that have brittle filaments. And because LEDs draw minimal power, the light won't drain your battery, overload your circuits, or produce too much heat.
LED Circuit Board Has Surface-Mount Technology
Unlike other LED lights, this dome light has an LED circuit board with durable, surface-mount technology. This technology will better resist the shock and vibration that happens when you drive over rough roads. And it improves heat distribution, which means that you won't burn your fingers when you need to do maintenance.
Raw Lumens vs. Effective Lumens
Lumens are utilized to measure the actual amount of light that you can see and use from a light source. If you need a super bright light for a workspace, you will want to go with a light that has a higher lumen count. If you want a softer glow in an RV living space, you should go with a light that has a lower lumen count.
Light sources typically have 2 different kinds of lumens: raw and effective. Raw lumens represent the natural amount of light that a manufacturer says their light fixtures can produce. Effective lumens, on the other hand, represent the usable brightness of the entire light assembly, including the drive method or any lenses or reflectors.
Surface-Mount, Bolt-On Installation is Easy
This surface-mount dome light is incredibly easy to install as an upgrade or direct replacement of your existing light. To access the bolt holes, pull the lens up and away from the housing. Do not use any tools to remove the lens, as it will crack. Then, using hardware (not included), bolt the housing onto the ceiling, wall, or cabinet before re-installing the lens. The light has a 2-wire design that hooks up to ground (white wire) and power (black wire). Once you're finished, you can then turn the lights on and off using the integrated toggle switch on the light's housing. And if you want to be able to control the brightness of the light, you can connect it to an LED-compatible dimmer switch (not included).

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a brief look together at this Optronics 12 volt LED RV dome light. Now, this single dome light is going to be perfect for underneath a kitchen cabinet or in a walkway in your RV. This is going to be perfect for brightening up your RV kitchen when maybe like you're doing the dishes or you need a small little light in there just to see your way around when you're getting a midnight snack. This will also be great to install in an enclosed trailer when you're loading gear. So the LED circuit board has surface mount technology and what that means for you is that type of technology is going to withstand shock and vibration and heat.
And the 14 energy efficient warm white LEDs are going to last longer and burn brighter than incandescent bulbs. So I went ahead and turned my studio lights off just so you can get a better idea of what this light is gonna look like. It really has a nice warm, warmish color to the light. So this has a color temperature of 3,000 Kelvin. So that's what's considered a warm white color.
I'm shining that on the wall behind me just so you can kinda see the output there from that angle. The raw lumen rating is 290 lumens, and the effective lumen rating is 140 lumens. And this has an amp draw of 0.3 amps. And if you notice here, we do have an integrated toggle switch that's going to let you simply turn that light on and off. Simple as that.
And then let me go ahead and disconnect from my power and show you the rear of the light. So as you can see, we do have a two-wire design. That red wire is going to be power and the black wire is going to be ground. Now, this light features an acrylic frosted plastic lens, so that's gonna be less likely to shatter than glass. And this white housing is constructed with plastic.
It's very durable it feels like. There's not really a whole lot of flex to it, so I think it's gonna hold up really well. This is going to be an easy bolt-on installation onto the surface of your ceiling or wall or under your cabinet. And hardware is included with this to help you with that install. And this is, I guess, you would consider this more of an oblong shape. Let me go ahead and give you some measurements just so you have a good idea of the size. I'm gonna measure the back of it 'cause that's gonna be the easiest to measure with the ruler. So as you can see, looking at the overall length, we're sitting pretty close to 6-1/4 inches long. And looking at the height or the width, however you'd like to describe that, we are almost at four inches. If you wanna get technical, maybe 3-15/16 inches. And then looking at the depth and we're trying to take into account that curve there, sitting right about one inch deep overall. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that our time together was illuminating for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
