Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX Female Adapter Fitting. And this adapter is going to connect your pipes and hoses in your RV's fresh water plumbing system. So whether you're needing to repair a leaky connections or installing new lines, this is going to do a great job for you. This will work with your PEX pipes, the old gray PB pipes, as well as your poly vinyl tubing. On the one end here, we have our 1/8 inch FPT connection that's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with 1/8 inch MPT fitting.

On the other end, we are going to have the 1/2 inch barbed connection that's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with 1/2 inch inner diameter. This barbed connection with the compression end is going to allow you to get this installed without having to use any tools, and it's gonna provide a nice secure fit. So basically, the way this is gonna work, you'll slide that compression end over the outside of your tube, and then you will install that barbed connection into the tube there. That's gonna take a little bit of wiggling and quite a bit of pressure to get that fully inserted. But once you have it inserted, it's going to expand the tube over that barbed section and then you'll slide that compression end down, and that's going to then compress the tube.

So it's gonna give you a very solid connection. I actually tried out a very similar fitting a few weeks ago. We had some spare PEX pipe laying around, and I was really impressed. I was able to get in installed by hand. But then when it came time to take it apart, I had to use a couple vice grips to pull it apart.

So it is a very, very secure connection. So one thing I will point out is that if you are going to be installing this under a cabinet or something like that where there's gonna be confined space, it might be better to try and get the fitting put on your hose or tube before you get into that confined space, somewhere where you're gonna have more elbow room, 'cause it will take quite a bit of pressure to get that barbed end inserted into your hose or tube. But once it's installed, it is going to be a very solid connection for you. This does have a polyoxyethylene construction, so it is very durable and will be resistant to stress cracking, and again, we will hold up really well for you. So whether you're needing to install your ice maker or other application with that 1/8 inch FPT connection and the 1/2 inch inner diameter, this is gonna be a great option for you.
