Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX 90-degree elbow fitting. This is gonna connect your pipes and hoses in your RV's fresh water plumbing system. So whether you're needing to repair a leaky connection or if you're installing new lines, this will do a great job of connecting your 1/2-inch inner diameter hoses or tubes. This is gonna work with your PEX pipes as well as the old gray PB pipes and your polyvinyl tubing.

We do have two of these 1/2-inch barbed connections that are gonna fit your hoses and tubes with 1/2-inch inner diameters. Basically, the way these barbed sections and compression ends work is going to allow you to not have to use any tools to get them installed. So basically you'll just slide that compression end over your pipe or hose and then you'll insert that barbed end into your pipe or hose. And that might take some doing, might have to wiggle it back a little bit and apply some pressure there. But once you have it inserted, you'll just slide that compression end over, get it tightened down on both ends, and then that's going to give you that 90-degree elbow.

So it's going to allow your water to flow, easily change directions without risking kinking your tubing. Now, one thing I will say about this, I tried this out on, tried to install very similar fitting on a spare piece of PEX pipe that we had around here the other day. I was really impressed with how strong that connection is. Having that barbed end that's gonna cause the tubing to kind of flare out and then be compressed back in with that compression fitting. It's gonna make a very secure connection.

I was able to get it installed by hand, but then when I went to remove it, I actually had to use a couple of vise-grips to get that seal broken. So very, very secure connection for you. One thing I will point out or suggest, if you're gonna be working in a confined space, it does take some effort to get that barbed end into your pipe. So I would recommend, if you can, to try and get that installed before you go into that confined space, just so you have a little bit more room for leverage to get that installed. But then once you have that compression end tightened down, that's gonna be a very solid connection for you which obviously is very important when you're dealing with water.

You don't want to have any leaks causing mildew or anything like that. And this is a polyoxymethylene construction, so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking. So it will hold up well for you for a long time to come. I do wanna point out too that this is just one of the many connection types that we have available here at etrailer.com. So if you're looking over your project, planning out where you're gonna run your lines, what kind of connections you'll need, that sort of thing, I'd encourage you to check out those other options that we have as well to make sure that you're getting everything that you need for your project. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
