Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this FLAIR-IT PEX straight coupler fitting. This straight coupler is gonna connect your PB pipes to your PEX pipes in your RV's fresh water plumbing system. This will be a great option whether you're needing to repair a leaky connection or installing new lines. We do have the 3/4-inch barbed connection.
That's going to fit your PB pipes with the 3/4-inch inner diameter. We also have the connection for your 3/4-inch PEX pipes, so 3/4-inch inner diameter PEX pipes. So having those barbed connections is going to allow us to get our pipes connected without having to use any tools, so it is gonna be a very simple process for us. Basically, the way this works you'll just slide that compression end over your pipe and then you'll get that barbed end inserted into your pipe. Now that might take a little bit of doing.
You might have to wiggle it and apply quite a bit of pressure there to get that barbed end in. But once it's inserted, you'll just slide that compression end down and get it threaded in place. You'll do the same thing with the other side for your PB pipe. Once those are threaded in place, it's gonna provide a very solid connection for you. I actually tried this out myself a few days ago with a very similar fitting.
We had some PEX pipe laying around, so I put the fitting on the PEX pipe, and I will say it did take quite a bit of effort to get that barbed end into the pipe, so especially if you're gonna be working in a confined space under a cabinet or something like that, I'd highly encourage you to get that fitting put on before you get into the confined space, somewhere where you're gonna have more elbow room and can apply more leverage to get that put in place. But then once it's connected, it's gonna be a very solid connection. I was really impressed. I was able to get it all tightened down by hand, but then when I tried to take it back off again, I actually had to use a couple of pairs of vice grips. So it's a very solid connection, which of course very important when you're dealing with water.
You don't wanna have leaks, drips, and that sort of thing. So this will do a great job for you making that connection between your PB pipes and your PEX pipes. I do wanna point out this is a polyoxymethylene construction, so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking, will hold up really well for you. And this is just one of the many connection types that we do have available here at etrailer.com. So as you're thinking through your project, what kind of connections you're gonna need, what kind of lines you're gonna need to run, I'd encourage you to take a look at our other options, make sure you're getting everything before you start your project. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
