Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX adapter fitting. This adapter is gonna help connect your pipes and hoses and your RV freshwater plumbing system. So whether you're needing to repair leaky connections or if you're installing a new line, this will do a great job making that connection for you. This will work with your PEX pipes, the old gray PB pipes, as well as the polyvinyl tubing. On the one end, we have the half-inch FPT connection that's gonna fit hoses or tubes with a half-inch MPT fitting.

On the other end, we're going to have the half-inch barbed connection that's gonna fit your hoses or tubes with a half-inch inner diameter. The barbed connection with the compression end here is going to allow you to get this installed without having to use any tools. So basically, the way this will work, you'll take your compression end, slide that over your tube, and then your barbed end will be inserted into your tube. And that might take some doing, you might have to wiggle it around a bit, use some force to get that put in, but you can definitely do it by hand. And then, once you have that inserted, you can slide your compression end over, and then get that threaded in place.

And that is gonna create a nice solid connection for you. I tried this out myself on a very similar fitting a couple of days ago. I was really impressed at how easy it was to get tightened down by hand. But then when it came time to take it off so I could do the video on it, it was very difficult. I had to use a couple different vice grips to get that removed.

So it's definitely a very secure fit for you. One thing I will point out is that getting the barbed end into your tube can take quite a bit of work to get that put in. And especially if you're working in a confined space, like in a cabinet or something like that, it might be a good idea to try and make that, insert that before you get into that confined space so that you have more leverage that you can put on there. But once you get it installed, that is gonna be a very secure fitting. Basically, the way it's working is it's going to stretch your hose or tube out over that barb.

And then, your compression fitting is going to clamp it back down again. So very, very secure for you. Now this is a polyoxymethylene construction so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking.
