Today we're going to review part #P10003. This is the Putco High Power 6 LED Flush Mount Luminix Block Lamp. It's 18 watts and a 15-degree spot pattern. Now, this part will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the block lamp itself, the mounting hardware for installing it, the wiring harness, the illuminated switch and a nice set of detailed instructions. This is a very low-profile LED block lamp.
It delivers a bright focus light. It has a 15 degree spot theme pattern, and that's created by these chrome-backed focus lenses. It is a flush mount design. It delivers a sleek look. It has high quality light output from the 6 3 watt Nichia LEDs.
These are quality LEDs with a 50,000 hour lifespan. It also has some built-in safeguards. They use the thermal control chips to help prevent LEDs from overheating and it also uses over and under voltage protection, which keeps the lamp operating at the correct voltage. It's a very durable, waterproof, corrosion-resistant construction. It has a black anodized billet aluminum housing, which is very lightweight and rustproof, and the LEDs are fully potted to protect the fragile components and it uses industry standard protection against dust and moisture. This light can mount in your grill and your bumper.
The hardware is included to install it. Now, if you're going to mount it flush-mounted, you do need to cut out this area here, so some cutting would be required. The wiring harness that comes with it right here has a nice relay and then there's 3 different sets of wires coming off of it. The 1 set would have the 3 pigtails with the female connectors that you would connect to your illuminated switch to be able to turn it on and off. The other set of wires would have the industry standard Deutsch connector on it.
What's nice about that is when you go to push this on, it has the triple seal here on the end, so it's a very tight, snug connection, locks into place, gives you a nice weatherproof seal. The other wire coming off would be the red power wire and the black ground wire. If you'll notice, on the red power wire, they do include this inline fuse holder with a 15 amp fuse in there to protect your circuit. This part is made in the U.S.A. The specs on this, there are 6 LEDs at 3 watts per LED, so 18 watts. The power draw is 1.5 amps. Input voltage 12 volts with 36 volts DC and the operating temperature range is a negative 100 degrees Fahrenheit up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with unlimited 2-year warranty. The light output, the brightness on this is 2,400 lumens. The beam it gives off, again, is a narrow, 15 degree spot and the color temperature of the light it gives off is 6,000 degrees Kelvin. The dimension on this light is 5 3/4 inches long, 3 1/2 inches tall, and about 3/4 of an inch deep. What I'm going to do now is we're going to hook this up to show you how bright the light is and try to show you the pattern it gives off. So what we're first going to do here is we'll take the Deutsch connector from the wiring harness, plug it into the light, we got that connection. We'll go to the other wire for the illuminated switch that has the 3 pigtails. On your switch, it'll tell you in the instructions that if you look at the back there's 3 connectors and they're labeled 1, 2, and 3. What they tell you to do is the red wire will go to 1, the blue wire will go to the middle or the number 2, and the black wire will go on this number 3. So we got our switch connected, then our last wire is going to be our power wire. We have our red power wire and our black ground. What we're going to do is go ahead and hook up our red power wire first. Got that hooked up. Then we'll hook up our ground. Get our nice, clean ground. Then I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, go ahead and turn on our 12 volt power supply. Then with the switch - you see the illuminated switch, the red thing right here in my hand, that little dot That's a rocker switch so if you push it off, then when you push it on you can see the red lights up to let you know the lights are on and here's your 6 3 watt LEDs or 18 watts total. It gives you a good light. I'm going to reverse it here just to give you a idea on the back wall. See if we can get the cord out of the way. If you'll notice on the back wall, you can see it gives a very narrow 15 degree spot beam. Okay, then we'll just go ahead and turn off the lights. We'll go ahead and turn on our overhead lights.
