Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED driving pod light with bracket. This three-inch LED driving pod light will act as an auxiliary high beam and increase your visibility to keep you safe. As you can see, I do have this connected to my power source and I do have the bracket installed. This aluminum U-bracket is going to allow you to virtually install the light anywhere on your vehicle where you want it. And as you can see, this does come with the hardware to install the bracket onto the light.

You're gonna be able to adjust the angle of that light in the bracket wherever you want it. And then once you have that angle that you're looking for, just tighten down the hardware and it will hold in place. Then you'll also get the hardware to install the bracket onto your vehicle. Here's the bracket by itself. So again, durable aluminum.

It's gonna do a great job of resisting the elements. It's gonna hold up really well for you. Now let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here and back out here just a little bit to give you a better idea of what this light's gonna look like in low light or dark conditions. I think a better demonstration though is gonna be able to shine this light on the wall behind me so you can see that beam. So that driving pattern beam is gonna give you enough width to light up a standard road or trail.

This light has a light color or light, a color temperature rather of 6,000 kelvin. So that cool white color is gonna match most of your factory lights. It's a really nice crisp color that is going to do a great job of giving you additional visibility. Turning my studio lights back on, you can still see that beam, so it gives you an idea of just how bright this light is. This does have a raw lumen rating of 5,796 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3,000 lumens.

Now this light has a peak beam intensity of 66,500 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now the power draw on that main beam is 2.7 amps. And this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't really efficient at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all that light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into the surface of this lens. That's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're gonna lose some of that light. You could lose up to 10% of that light just from its shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency there as well. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector. As you can see, I have that pigtail plugged into the back of this light. This is what that pigtail is gonna look like when it's not plugged in. And then on the back of this light, let me see if I can move this bracket to where you can see it. We do have a breather patch. It's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then this light has heat sinks on the back of the housing that's going to dissipate the heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. And this light has been built with high intensity LED chips. It does feature a powder-coated aluminum construction. So that heavy duty construction is going to do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, corrosion, vibration. And testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting note is that Diode Dynamics actually designed and engineered and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. So let me give you some overall measurements. Looking at the width from end to end, we're sitting at about 3 1/4 inches long. That's going to be the same for our height. Now when you install the bracket as we have here, of course that's going to increase the height. So from the top of our light all the way to the bottom of our bracket, we're sitting at about 3 3/4 inches tall. And then the depth from the front of the light all the way to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting about 2 3/8 inches deep. Now this light does draw a high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is important that you use wiring that's size 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation.
