Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED combo pod light with bracket. Now this three-inch LED combo pod light is going to be great for seeing near and far. This is gonna, as you can see, give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. So I already have this connected to my power source and I also have the bracket installed to this light. This bracket is going to allow for an easy, simple installation to virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

And you are going to receive hardware to install the light to the bracket. And what's nice about using the bracket with this light is you're gonna be able to adjust the angle to just about wherever you want it. And once you have that angle set, you'll just tighten it down with the hardware on each side. Then you're also going to receive hardware to mount the bracket with the light onto your vehicle. Now I do have a bracket here that's not been installed just to show you what it looks like.

It's constructed of durable aluminum, so this is going to hold up really well for you. You're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or anything like that. Now let me go ahead and kill my studio lights here and go for a wider view just so you can get a good idea of what this is going to look like in dark conditions. And I'm gonna turn my light here to the wall behind me so you can get a good look at that pattern. That combo beam pattern is a mix between a driving beam pattern and a flood beam pattern.

So this light, because of that, is going to be great for all around use. This light has a color temperature of 3,000 kelvin. So that yellow color is gonna be great for bad weather. This is gonna cut through the rain and the fog. And then turning my studio lights on here, just wanted to continue to show you how bright this is even with my studio lights on.

So this light has a lumen, a raw lumen rating of 5,220 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 2,700 lumens. Now this light does have a peak beam intensity of 33,406 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output like your regular bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. Now this does have a power draw of 2.7 amps. And this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses which aren't real efficient at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And then instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose a little bit of that light. You could lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency rather than lose that efficiency. So this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector. And you can see that I have it plugged into the back of that light. But here's another pigtail showing you what that Deutsch connector looks like. So that'll plug right in and then you'll wire the light in. And then this also has a breather patch right there. And that's going to prevent moisture buildup in the light. And then these heat sinks on the back of the housing are gonna do a great job of reducing the heat or dissipating the heat rather quickly to increase the longevity of this light. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips. And it does feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. That heavy duty construction is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components at home. And an interesting fact, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. Let's go over some measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting about 3 1/4 inches wide. That's gonna be the same measurement for the height. But then when you add that bracket measuring from the top of the light to the base of our bracket there, we're gonna be sitting right at about 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the depth from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're gonna be pretty close to 2 3/8 inches deep. Now this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using the Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's 16 gauge or larger.
