Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED combo pod light with bracket. This three-inch LED combo pod light, it's gonna be great for seeing near or far and it's gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. Now, I already have this light connected to my power source and I also have the bracket installed to the light just to give you an idea of what it's going to look like when it's installed. So this bracket's going to let you install this light virtually anywhere on your vehicle. It does include the hardware to install it and it also includes the hardware to install the light to the bracket.

And what's great about using the bracket with the light is, you're gonna be able to adjust the angle to wherever you want it. And then once you have that angle set, you'll just tighten down the hardware on either side of the bracket and that will hold that angle in place. Now, I do have the bracket here that's not installed. This is constructed of durable aluminium. So this is gonna hold up really well for you.

It's gonna do a great job of resisting the elements. You're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or anything like that. Now, lemme go ahead and turn my studio lights off here just to give you a better idea of what this light looks like in low light or dark conditions. Going to my wide view here just to give you a view from a distance. I think a better demonstration, though, is gonna try to shine this light on the wall behind me.

So that combo pattern that you see there, that's a mix between a driving beam and a flood beam. So this light is gonna be great for all around use. And this light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin. So that cool white color is gonna match most of your factory LED lights. It's gonna be a very crisp and pristine color of light.

So it's gonna do a great job of giving you that additional visibility that you're looking for. Now, this light does have a raw lumen rating of 5,796 lumens, and a measured lumen rating of 3,000 lumens. And then even with my studio lights on, you can see just how bright the light is and you can still see the beam on that wall behind me. And this has a peak beam intensity of 35,100 candela. Now, in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now, this light does have a power draw of 2.7 amps and this light is designed with a newer technology, known as Custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't real great at focusing all of that light where you want it, this custom-designed large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all the light forward very efficiently. And then instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're gonna lose up to 10% of that light from it just shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're not gonna lose efficiency, but actually gain efficiency with this light. Now, this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche-style connector. As you can see, I have that pigtail plugged in already, that's obviously what's powering the light. But here's another pigtail showing you that Deutsche connector, so it's going to secure in place at the back of the light. While we're looking at the back of the light, right there, you can see the breather patch and that's gonna prevent moisture buildup in the light. And then you see our heat sinks here, they're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to prolong the life of this light. Now, this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it does feature a durable powder-coated aluminium construction. And this heavy duty construction is going to withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, vibration. And testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting fact that you might be interested in, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. Let's go over some measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 3 1/4 inches wide. That's gonna be the same for the height as well. However, when you add that bracket, you will increase the height a little bit. So measuring from the top of the light to the bottom of our bracket, we're gonna be sitting right at about 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the depth measuring from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're pretty close to about 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is highly recommended that you use wiring that's 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation.
