Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Max LED driving pod light with bracket. This three-inch LED driving pod light is going to act as an auxiliary high beam and increase your visibility to keep you safe. As you can see, I have this connected to my power source already. And this does include an aluminum view bracket that's going to allow you to install this light virtually anywhere on your vehicle. It comes with a hardware to install the light into the bracket, and then you're gonna be able to adjust the angle of that light wherever you want it.

And then once you have that angle set, you can just tighten down that hardware and then that angle will hold in that bracket. And then you're also gonna get the hardware to install the bracket onto your vehicle. So again, very simple, pretty easy setup there and that aluminum U bracket is going to hold up really well to the elements. So here it is without it being installed. So it's gonna be very durable and it's gonna hold up really well for you.

Now, let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here and zoom out and just give you a view of what this light is gonna look like in low light or dark conditions. I think a better demonstration though is going to shine this light on the wall behind me so you can see that pattern there. Now, that driving beam pattern is gonna give you enough width to light up a standard road or trail. And this light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin. So that cool white color is going to match most of your factory lights.

This has a raw lumen rating of 7,920 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3,500 lumens. Turning my studio lights back on, you can still see how bright that is, even with my bright studio lights on. Now, this does have a peak beam intensity of 98,000 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions.

Now, the main beam has a power draw of three amps, and this light is designed with a newer technology known as Custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom-designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into the surface of this lens. So that's going to prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're gonna lose some of that light. You could lose up to 10% of that light from it just shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually going to not lose efficiency, but actually pick up some efficiency there. Now, this does include the industry-standard integrated Deutsche-style connector. And I do have a pigtail here that's not in use, showing you what that looks like. So that's gonna plug right into the back of this light as you can see here. And then securely click into place. And then on the back of this light, lemme see if I can move this bracket to show you. We do have a breather patch that's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then the heat sinks on this light that are gonna do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to increase the overall longevity of this light. Now, this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it does feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. And this heavy duty construction is going to do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting note, Diode Dynamics actually designed and engineered and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now, just some overall measurements. Looking at the width first from end to end, we're sitting at about 3 1/4 inches. That's gonna be the same for the height as well. And then when you install the bracket, of course, that's going to increase the height a little bit. So from the top of the light to the bottom of our bracket, we're sitting pretty close to 3 3/4 inches tall. The overall depth from the front of our light to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting about 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's sized at 16 gauge or larger. Now, we do also offer this light in a set of two.
