Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED Fog Pod Lights. Now, these three-inch LED fog pod lights are going to give you a bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. And as you can see, I have this light connected to my power source already. And what you're seeing here is one of my favorite features of this light is the amber backlight.

And this is going to be great for a nice stylish touch or maybe for more visibility when you're not using your main beam. And so, let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off just so you can have a better idea of what this is going to look like in low light conditions. I'm gonna zoom out for a wider view and then I'm gonna go ahead and activate the fog beam, and I'm gonna shine this off to the side, so I don't blind you there. So this fog pattern is gonna give you high-intensity light in an extremely wide field of view. And so, shining that on my wall behind me, you can see that wide beam there.

And these lights have a color temperature of 3,000 kelvin yellow, which is gonna be perfect for bad weather like rain and fog. So again, this is the light with the main fog beam on and then this is with it off on that backlight there. And then I'm gonna go ahead and kick my studio lights back on and activate that fog beam again and just shine that on the wall again, just so you can see, even with my bright studio lights, you can see how bright this beam is. Now, these lights have a power draw on the main beam of 2.7 amps and the back light is 0.03 amps. And this light is designed with a newer technology known as Custom TIR optics.

TIR stands for total internal reflection. And unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom-designed, large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly onto the lens surface. This is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. And when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you probably know that you're gonna lose quite a bit of efficiency, probably up to about 10% of that light just from it shining through.

So by making it as part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency there as well. So the raw lumen rating is going to be 5,220 lumens. And again, that's gonna be 5,220 lumens, making sure I said that value correctly. And then the measured lumen rating is gonna be 2,700 lumens. And then this has a peak beam intensity of 10,900 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want that light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of this rating, you can visit our product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now, this does include the industry standard, integrated, Deutsch-style connector, and I left this connector disconnected from the light just so you could see. So you will get that and plugs right in the back there, be easy to connect and disconnect. And while we're actually looking at the back of this light, I wanted to show you that this does include a breather patch on the back and that's gonna prevent any moisture buildup. And then if you notice these heat sinks here at the back of the housing, they're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights. And this light has been built with high-intensity LED chips, and it features a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. So not only are they relatively lightweight, but they're gonna be very durable for you. Actually, the heavy duty construction's gonna withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And you might not know this, but Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. So again, these are three-inch fog pod lights. The overall measurements, looking at the width from end to end, we're sitting about 3/4 inches. And then the overall height, again, from end to end is gonna be that same measurement, 3/4 inches. And then the depth from the front of the light all the way to the end of our heat sinks, we're gonna be sitting right at 2 3/8 eighths inches. Now, these lights, as I'm sure you can appreciate, draws high current and they do require adequately-sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna be sure that you're using wire that's sized 16 gauge or larger just to ensure that safe operation. Now, these lights come without brackets, but we do have an option where you can get these lights in a kit with brackets or maybe just one light by itself, or one light with a bracket, or different lumens or different or even different types of lights.
