Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Style Dynamics SS3 Sport LED fog pod light. Now, this three-inch LED fog pod light is gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. And as you can see, I already have this connected to my power source. And what you're looking at here is one of my favorite features of this light, it is the backlight feature. And this features an amber color for that backlight.

So this is going to be great for a stylish touch or for more visibility when you're not using your main beam. So I turn my studio lights off here. I'm gonna go back to the wide view just so you can see what that back light's gonna look like from a distance. And then let me go ahead and activate that main beam just so you can see what that looks like. You see the difference already.

Again, there's your back light and then there's the fog beam. So I'm gonna go ahead and shine this on the wall behind me, just to give you a better demonstration of what that beam looks like. So that fog beam pattern gives you high intensity light in an extremely wide field of view, as you can see there on my wall. And this light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin. So that cool white color is going to match most of your factory lights.

It's gonna be a very crisp, very brilliant light to aid in your visibility. This has a raw lumen rating of 2,262 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 1,520 lumens. I'm gonna go ahead and kick my studio lights back on. And again, just to show you that beam on my wall and even with all my lights on, you can see just how bright and effective that beam is. So let's take another closer look at this.

The peak beam intensity is 10,600 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings actually measure the directional light output. And it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now, the power draw on that main beam is 1.1 amps on the back light at 0.03 amps. And this light has been designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics, that TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses which aren't too efficient at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom-designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly onto this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're gonna lose some of that light and you could lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency. Now, this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche-style connector, and I do have one of those pigtails here with that connector, so that's just gonna plug directly into the back of this light with the secure connection. And this also has a breather patch here at the back. Lemme see if I can find that. And there we go, right there. That breather patch is going to prevent any moisture buildup within the light. And then these heat sinks that you've probably already been seeing, those heat sinks are going to quickly and efficiently dissipate the heat to increase the longevity of this light. Now, this light has been built with high intensity LED chips. It does feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And in this interesting note, Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now, just some overall measurements, measuring the width from end to end, we're sitting at about 3 1/4 inches wide. That's gonna be the same measurement for our height, 3 1/4 inches tall. And then the depth from the end of our heat sinks to the front of our light, we're sitting at about 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, this light does draw high current and it does require adequately-sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, make sure to use wire that's size at 16 gauge or larger for safe operation.
