Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport LED Combo Pod Lights with brackets. Now, these three inch LED combo pod lights are gonna be great for seeing near or far. These are gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. So as you can see, I already have this light connected to my power source, just so you can see what that looks like, and I also have one of the brackets installed on this light. So this is going to include brackets to help you mount these lights virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

You're gonna get the hardware to install the light into the bracket. And what's nice about using the light in the bracket is you can adjust that angle however you want it. And then once you have that angle set, you just tighten down the hardware on either side, and then that will hold that angle that is gonna work best for you. Now, the brackets are made of durable aluminum, so they're gonna hold up really well for you, they're gonna be corrosion resistant, and again, allow easy install on your vehicles. Hardware is included to install the bracket to your vehicle.

I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights off here and go out for a wider view, just so you can get a better view of what this light looks like. So I'm gonna go ahead and just shine this light, without trying to cross my wires here, on the wall behind me. And that's gonna give you a view of that combo beam pattern. So this pattern is a mix between your driving beam and your flood beam, so these lights are gonna be great for all-around use. And this has a light color temperature of 3,000 kelvin.

So that yellow color is gonna be great for bad weather like rain or fog, this is gonna do a great job of cutting through those elements. And this has a raw lumen rating of 1,930 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 1,300 lumens. And even with my studio lights back on, you can still see how bright that light is. Now, this does have a peak beam intensity of 28,100 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings actually measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want lights shining in a specific direction.

Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output like your regular bulbs where you want lights shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of this rating, you can visit this product page on our website, or Diode Dynamics has information that you can find. This does have a power draw of 1.1 amps. Let me go ahead and shut that off, so I'm not continuing to blind you here. Now, this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't real great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom-designed, large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And then instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you could lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're not gonna lose efficiency, but actually gain some efficiency. Now, this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector, so that pigtail will plug right into the back of that light and securely clip in. And then, these lights do have a breather patch to prevent moisture buildup. And then those heat sinks on the back housing are gonna do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to prolong the life of these lights. Now, these lights have been built with high intensity LED chips. They do feature durable powder coated aluminum construction, and that heavy-duty construction is gonna withstand extreme temperatures, vibration, and corrosion. And testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting fact is Diode Dynamics actually designed and engineered and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. Let's go over some measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 3 1/4 inches wide. That is gonna be the same measurement for our height. But then when you add the bracket, that's gonna increase the height, so from the top of the light to the base of our bracket, we're sitting right at about 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the depth from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting right at about 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, these lights do draw high current and they do require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, it is important that you're using wiring that sized at 16 gauge or larger.
