Video Transcript for Installation Guide for the Aries Rocker Steps with Custom Installation Kit - 2023 Jeep Wrangler

Hey, it's Trevor with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Aries Rocker Steps on our 2023 Jeep Wrangler. Adding a set of running boards to your Jeep is gonna make it a lot easier for you to get in and out of your vehicle. An added benefit to adding running boards and specifically these ones here is it's gonna be made of a durable steel. So it's gonna be great for off-roading use. And plus how these mount, it's gonna set up a lot higher than most components under the vehicle, so you're not sacrificing much ground clearance at all.

And plus you'll be able to knock your feet off. So to get any mud, snow, ice off your feet before you get in your vehicle. These steps are gonna look very nice as they're gonna match up with your fender wheels pretty well and they will match up with any accessories you decide to get rather than a traditional tube step that might look a little bit more awkward and out of place. Another cool thing about these is it's got these holes on top to allow debris to fall through, as well as this rugged black powder coat. These boards are gonna be a little bit larger than your traditional three inch step.

That's just 'cause of how the plate on top mounts. So you're gonna have plenty of room to put your foot up on these boards. These running boards were also pretty easy to install. It's a custom fit, no drill application, and, I mean, we got 'em out probably in 10 minutes on each side. Well, let's stop waiting and go ahead and roll into that installation.

Now something I recommend before we begin the installation process is grab some cleaner and your bolt and just spray a good amount of the cleaner, make sure it's all nice and clean. And then when you try and run the bolts in by hand, make you wanna make sure it goes in easily. If it kind of stops a little bit, you can loosen it up a little bit, try and run it back in to help rake up anything in there. But after we've done that, we'll go ahead and begin the insulation on these running boards. Now whenever you go to get this up, you're gonna want to grab an extra set of hands and if you're curious where those thread and mounting points would be located, one's gonna be right here in between these two sets of holes and then you'll have another one on the rear and between these two sets of holes here.

Now with your extra set of hands today, I got Jake, what you'll do is you'll take your M8, the flat washer, and this lock washer and you'll go ahead and attach that to those thread mounting points I showed you before. (parts clanking) And you'll just wanna get that loosely on there for now, as we're gonna attach the brackets here in a moment. Now we're gonna go ahead and get the front bracket attached. They aren't labeled anyway, so if yours doesn't fit correctly, just grab the other bracket, try that out and it should line up perfectly the first time for you. There's only one way these can really go on. Now to attach these, we're gonna use our M10, bolt, washer, another washer, and a nylon lock nut. We're gonna slide this up here into place. Bolt goes through the lower section here. And then one washer on the bolt head side and another on the nut side. And then we're gonna do the same thing and just kind of get that hand tight on there. Now we're gonna go ahead and get these mounted to be pinch weld here. We're gonna use the two holes that we referenced earlier when we we inchesre talking about that threaded frame mount. Now all you're gonna do is kind of move the bracket up, slide that bolt through there, get that in line with the bracket on the rear side, and then attach one washer and then your nylon lock nut like you did with the M tin bolt. Now just repeat that process on the other side. Now we're gonna go ahead and get the rear bracket attached. And one thing to note that I didn't mention on the other bracket was it's only gonna go on this flat side here and with these rear brackets it's a little bit easier to tell which one's gonna go on which side just 'cause you want this, like, bend to face this flat edge. Then we're gonna go ahead, put that M10 through, lock washer on one side, washer on the other, and the lock nut. Everything's gonna be hand tight for now and we'll go back and snug everything up later and get it torqued to specs. Now we're gonna go ahead and get all the bolts snug down. And the order you want to do it in is you wanna do the two M8s on our frame first. Then you want to do the two M6s on both sides here that are gonna be in that pinch weld and then two M10 bolts. That's just gonna give you the best stability. It's gonna hide this bracket up behind our pinch weld and it's gonna keep our running board straight. (tool whirring) (tool clicking) (tool whirring) Now we're gonna go ahead and get everything torqued down to specs in the same order as we tightened it down. (tools beeping) Now that you have this side completed, you're just gonna go ahead and do that on the other side of the vehicle. And once you've done that, you've completed your installation. Now that was a look at and the installation of the Aries Rocker Steps. My name's Trevor and thank you for watching.

Sturdy well built, rough texture coating looks awesome when installed. Very easy to install by using factory location on 2019 4Runner TRD Off-road models. Doesn’t stick out too far like some models but just enough and low for east foot placement on the front and back.

by:

Goldilocks, not too big and not too small. They add to the lines of my 4Runner, actually providing a more finished look without reducing my ground clearance. I’m 75 and was able to install easily by just driving up on some 2x8’s

Great product. Very happy with my purchase. Fits perfectly on my new 5th gen 4Runner. Installation was simple. Took about 45 minutes to install on my own. Product is solid, heavy, and texture of surface helps from slipping in wet weather.
Customer service from etrailer was great too. Would recommend and buy other items in the future.

by:

Installed easily. Ride close to the body so they don't hit things when off road. I love the fact that mud and dirt fall through the holes. That is important when you live at the end of 3 miles of dirt road.

Ordering was easy, were delivered within 3 days of ordering.

The installation was simple.

Quick ship. Quick install. Fit my 2022 4Runner Trail. Stoked.
