Today on our 2014 ford f150, we're going to show you how to install the DZ oval tube steps, with he custom installation kit. These are the six inch wide model and the black powder coat steel. Part number is DZ 16121-16325. Here's what our steps are going to look like once we get them installed. Its the nice, clean really proportionate step, gives us a nice wide area to place our foot. Here at the front door and also rear door, we're going to have the grip or textured pads there to help us keep our footing while we're getting in and out in inclimate situations.
Installation is really easy, you don't have to drill anything. Everything is already there, just put in some u-blots and bolts, and you've got it wrapped up. Were going to start right underneath the passenger's side of the truck, here. Just inside, there's going to be a pretty flat edge right in here. That's where we're going to start putting in some of our little u-nuts.
First ones going to go on the back side of the square hole that's closer to the rear of the vehicle. The taller part goes towards the inside, those will just slide over, then they click in place. We'll put one there, and then we're going to put one on the flat lip right here. Just got one hole here that's a little bit smaller, we're going go in the one just in front of that right there, and we can move up here to the middle. Here we're going to pull off a plastic cover, it covers another square hole. This is going to be just in front of a longer oblong hole there.
Single hole above it, we're going to take our clip, push it up into place, then we'll go to the hole just behind it there, then well move right up here, where we'll pull off another little cover. We'll slide our ubolt towards that forward hole. We'll come right down underneath that and use the hole right there for our final connection point for our passenger's side. Now let's our brackets and start putting those in. As we start adding our brackets in, we want the lip, the longer side with the two holes to be facing forward.
We can use this to inaudible 00:02:17faster, go right through the bracket and right into our ubolts there at the top and the bottom. We'll of that at all three locations. We';ll use a 13 millimeter socket, and we can tighten those down. Lets run through, and well torque each one down. All right, lets get our running board and get it in place. Going to place our step right up onto our brackets, we're going to keep a hand on it and just get in position there about where we want it. Once we have our board approximately where we want it here, well figure out which of our slots lines up the best with our brackets, then we're going to slide a ubolt in, and right on above the oblong hole opening. Take one of our screws, same thing for the other side. That threaded in. We'll do that for other two locations, as well. Now, we just want to take a look, get our running board positioned where we want it, then we can tighten our bolts down. Everything's nice and secure, that's going to complete today's installation of the Dz Opal tube sets with the custom installation kit. Part number Dz-16121-16325 on our 2014 ford f150.
