Flare Nut Wrench for Brake Lines
The fittings on brake lines are often made of brass or a similarly soft metal. When you use a standard open-end wrench, you cannot always get the torque you need to tighten or loosen a nut. The wrong wrench can slide loose and grind against the fitting's threads. The result is often stripped threads, which are caused by the surface of the wrench grinding against the malleable metal surface of the fitting.
A line wrench - also called a flare nut wrench - is generally thicker to provide more surface contact than other wrenches for a more secure grip on the nut. This way, you can apply more force to twist the nut more easily. Easier, more efficient twisting helps reduce your chances of stripping and destroying the threads.
To use a line wrench, just slip it over the brake line and slide it onto the fitting. Position it around the nut and you're good to go.
Two line wrenches are included with this set. Each wrench has 2 differently sized ends so you'll get a precise fit. One wrench has ends designed to fit 1/4" and 5/16" nuts and fittings. The other wrench has ends that fit 3/8" and 7/16" nuts and fittings.
1/2" Combination Wrench for Your Shop

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at this Kodiak wrench set. Now this set includes two line wrenches as well as a combination wrench for multiple automotive and household uses. And these two line wrenches are going to let you install and remove brake lines with less chance of stripping the fittings than with the standard open end wrenches. So they're gonna make working on your vehicle or your trailer brake lines safe and simple.
This combination wrench is handy for a variety of uses in the home or in the garage. And these wrenches are constructed of a heavy duty steel, so they're very strong and durable. And this durable fabric pouch is going to keep them together and you can either hang it in your shop or in your garage for easy access or tie them together, throw it in your toolbox and keep them all together and for easy access in that way as well. Our quarter inch line wrench, the overall length is gonna be seven and three quarters inches long. And again, this is going to work for a quarter of an inch and 5/16ths of an inch nuts and fittings.
And then moving on to the 3/8th of an inch line wrench. Again, this is gonna be good for 3/8th of an inch. And on this end, 7/16th of an inch nuts and fittings. The overall length of this wrench is eight inches long. And then finally our combination wrench.
The overall length is gonna be eight and a quarter inches long. And this is again gonna work for half inch nuts and fittings. And what I like about this bag, it's a very simple bag. But I do like how everything is marked here. So you know which wrench goes where, but then at a glance you also know which one you're getting when you need it.
So they slide in easily and tie it up here with these included straps and throw that in your toolbox and you'll have 'em together and you don't have to worry about them getting damaged. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

Ordered replacement brake kits for my boat trailer. I received great support from E-trailers' tech staff in making sure I ordered the correct parts. The parts arrived a day earlier than I was told and they bolted on with no problems. It was a great solution to replacing the brakes on my 20 year old boat trailer.
I have ordered several parts from E-trailer and I have always received excellent service. I highly recommend them!
All items were exactly as advertised.
Prompt service and great information always provided for anything you purchase.
