Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the WeatherTech custom-fit cargo liner for your 2017 Ford Explorer. So this is gonna be a lot more durable, compared to the regular cloth style mats that you have in your vehicle, if you already have a cargo liner. Most vehicles do not have a custom fit cargo liner like this, designed for this entire cargo space. You also have the material of a high density tri extruded material, which means it has a dense core to hold up to your dirt, your snow, your water, and even some of your chemicals. This has channels on the inside, just to help with if you spill any liquids, to channel it through.
But then once you get to the end, you also have this lip, so that way it makes it easier for you to clean up your messes, 'cause then you can just hold the whole thing and dump it out the back. Notice the texture on the mat as well. This gives it a nice, clean look, but also prevents your items from sliding around or getting too slippery. It's still a very smooth mat though, so you don't have to worry about it roughing up your cargo. So this is a premium cargo liner at a premium price.
Now I keep a WeatherTech cargo liner in my vehicle, mainly because it is an investment that I expect to last the lifetime of my car. So if you're looking for other options, though and maybe you don't need that durable core or that strong heavy duty material, you may wanna check out the etrailer universal cargo liner. It is universal, so not as custom fit, but you still have a lot of material to cover all of your cargo area, for if you need that extra protection. WeatherTech also has some other options. So maybe you want to use your third row of seats and just protect that bottom, back area.
You can find one that fits your third row. You can also find a mat that fits within your second row, or your front seats. Now you can find all of them here at etrailer. Just put your year, make, model in our fit guide at the top of the page to find the correct fit for you. This is designed to fit behind a second row of seats.
And this creates a heavy duty surface for when you're carrying cargo in your trunk, while also it is custom fit, to fit around the contours of your Explorer. So if you have a third row, this is designed to be used with your third row down. Also, I recommend vacuuming or detailing the back of your vehicle before putting this on. Not required, but it's just helpful that way. So once those seats are down, you can then just pop that liner into there. And, it's a little folded up right now, so I do recommend maybe leaving it out in the sun or getting it warm if you want it to truly fit around the contours. We'll see how well the lip fits around the walls of your vehicle. This will sit it more flush once it is warm. It even has those cutouts, for things like your seat belts or your storage hooks. So you are gonna have to take that mat out if you wanna put your third row back up. But, as you can see, it's super easy just to take out and put back in. And you're ready to go. The fit is lacking quite a bit (like 3-5 inches off in places) also wish I didn’t get the one that covers the whole floor in one piece. I wish it was 3 pieces that snap together for easier cleaning because this design you end up dumping all the crud on the floor of the truck while trying to take the mat out to clean it.

Does not fit the 2018 Hymer Aktiv class B motorhome on Promaster chassis. See pictures. notches for seat posts are not even close. The floormat extends into passenger side lower step well causing trip/foot snag when entering vehicle. Does not extend into area between seats leading to another raised area prone to trip/foot snag. Not good for RV use. I gave it two stars for quality of material. I'll be requesting return/refund.

Cargo mat delivered did not completely
Fit the cargo area. I'm assuming the wrong mat was sent. 2018 Chevy Equinox LS . Waiting for response back from eTrailer. I called 800 # on July 11, 2017 three times from 4:30pm to 5pm EST and computer prompt for service with product was #3. On hold twice for over 15 minutes with no explanation or human contact. Called third time and used prompt 1 for sales thinking they would surely pick this call up. Same 15 minutes on hold without any contact. Hung up again after unnecessary wait.
Hopefully this will get worked out and at the minimum a credit should be offered for the screw up and non existent customer phone service.

This was the longest hitch ball mount I could find anywhere. I used it with a short extension for my 2021 T G so that I could open the back doors without hitting the trailer wheel crank. With my new trailer, Intact Flyer Discover, I don't need the extension and can still open the doors. Works well.

Received the mats 6 days after ordering using the "free shipping "option. I feel this is reasonable and the tracking provided was accurate and up to date.
Now about the mats. I have owned many vehicles and have always tried to protect the interior and keep it as new looking as possible. I believe these mats will help me do that. In s word, they are great. They fit really well and the color match is spot on. The texture is non-slip and they are flexible enough that taking them in and out is a very easy. In short they are perfect for my vehicle and I would most certainly buy them again.
I will definitely use "etrailer" again for any products I need that they carry.

WeatherTech stands true to their claims of custom fit. My floor mats dropped in place with no effort. So much nicer looking than the plastic flooring in the cab of my motorhome. Clean up will be easier now that the mats are in place.

I started looking for these floor mats by going to the WeatherTech website. I put in all the truck info and was surprised and disappointed to see that no mats came up. Then I did a google search and they came right up on etrailer.com. I was a bit skeptical that they weren't available from the manufacturer, but I could get them here. I received them today and they are the real deal. The price was competitive and they were delivered in two days! Great job etrailer!

Fitment is not great. I would choose another brand for my next purchase. I had an issue that Weathertech said they would not correct. However etrailer corrected the issue themselves. I would definitely buy from etrailer again but never anything made by Weathertech.

- Availability of Foldable Cargo Mat for Cargo Area of 2015 Ford ExplorerI checked with my WeatherTech representative, and was told that the # WT42489 could be fairly easily folded or rolled back when the third row of seats are deployed. This being said, you'll want to keep in mind that the mat wasn't designed to do this. Rolling the mat up would be the better course of action, because if repeatedly folded, the mat would eventually crease at the point where you folded it.
