      • Unrestricted airflow decreases back pressure ("exhaust turbulence")
    • Straight-through muffler has a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through, end to end
      • Layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts
      • Contains no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow
  • Signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside the vehicle
  • All materials made with 100% stainless steel
  • Clamps and hangers included for installation

Specs:

  • Tubing diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Muffler is custom fit according to make and model
  • Tailpipe diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Tip diameter: 4"
  • Number of tips included: 2
  • Dual exhaust system
  • Split rear exit position

The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems have Mandrel bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter throughout every curve. This curvature leads to decreased back pressure.

MagnaFlow mufflers have a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through the muffler, end to end, with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts.

Together, the Mandrel bent tubes and straight-through muffler increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decrease exhaust gas temperature. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside vehicles. All materials are made with 100 percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installation. It includes a lifetime warranty.

Video Transcript for MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2005 Infiniti G35

Today we are going to be installing Magnaflow Performance Exhaust system part number 16641on a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe. Before we get started we want to go ahead and disconnect the negative terminal off the battery. The battery is located behind this panel here on the upper left-hand side of the engine compartment. This going to allow the computer to reset so when we get the new exhaust system on it will reconfigure itself to the new exhaust.

And we will go underneath the vehicle and start disconnecting the old exhaust. This is a Cat Back system so we will be moving the exhaust tips all the way up to the disconnect point behind the catalytic converter. So we need to unbolt the flange here from these two bolts and we are also going to need to remove the exhaust off all its hangers as well. The rubber hangers we are going to be using are located right here, right here, right here, and right here. Using a spray lubricant on the rubber hangers will make the removal of those a lot easier. You are going to want to save the rubber hangers because we will be reusing those for the re-installation.

And then also here just forward of the main exhaust you want to disconnect the ground wire off of the post here. We can go ahead and start disassembling it. I defiantly recommend spraying down all the bolts first with a lubricant like a WD40 because these will likely be rusted. This will help ease the removal of the nuts. Next we are going to go to the flange just rear of the exhaust and go ahead and remove the ground strap. Okay now we will remove the exhaust from all of the hangers. With all the rubber hangers removed you can go ahead and take the exhaust system out. The first piece we are going to go ahead and put in place is the one nearest the catalytic converter. Just going to be bolted to the flange, you want to make sure you have the gasket in place here. We do want to make sure the slight bend here goes toward the driver side. We want to leave everything fairly loose for the time being until we get it all installed and then we can tighten it all down.

Okay next we are going to put the second inlet piece in. You want the side with the rubber hanger to be facing the drivers side, it is going to attach right here. Then we are going to take one of the clamps that are provided with the installation kit and slide it over the inlet tube here over the end with the notches cut out of it. Go ahead and take that, and slide it over, slide it all the way in. All right go ahead and attach it to the rubber hanger here. Then we slide the clamp over and again we are just going to loosely install it for the time being. What I am going to do is manipulate it in and out of the inlet tube until that rubber hanger is facing straight up and down. Before I put the muffler on I am actually going to pre-install the clamp over this inlet tube because once the muffler is in place it is going to be tough to manipulate around there. Then we are going to go ahead and install the muffler itself. In preparation I went ahead and in the area where the muffler goes I went ahead and put all of the the rubber hangers back on the vehicle itself. Now that I have the muffler adjusted and properly into place I can go ahead and install our other clamp. I am going to go ahead and install with the threads on the upper side on each of them. And with that loosely installed I can go ahead and start tightening everything down. When tightening down you want to start with the forward most bolts and work your way rearward.

Last thing you want to do is go ahead and re-secure our grounding strap. To do that we are just going to be using the protruding threads from our clamp here at the rear most attaching point. Just slide that over and re-install it with the lock nut that is provided with the installation kit. With the grounding strap on again you just want to make sure all of our hangers are secure and our installation will be complete. This exhaust system was designed to make the car sound louder. Here is how it sounded before. And here is how it sounds now. And that will conclude the installation of part number 16641 on a 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe.

Installation was easy, perfect fit, sounds great and engine roars! Thanks etrailer for the great customer service and MagnaFlow for a great product!

Have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first, as I don't know anyone that has installed this particular kit. After installation, I am pleased to report that it has exceeded my high expectations. Kit came complete with everything needed to install (less the flange bolts). Initial sound was excellent...not too loud that it bothers the kids while they're sleeping in the car, but deep and loud enough to turn some heads. Excellent experience dealing with Etrailer as well. Will not hesitate to do business with them in the future. Thanks again for the super fast shipping and excellent customer service!

My Magnaflow cat back exhaust system on my 2016 VW GTI gave me more of the sound I wanted for my little sports car, and it looks so much better than the stock exhaust system. Meaning: the stock muffler, which shows horizontally at the rear of the vehicle, looks like an afterthought, just a metal can. The muffler on the Magnaflow is hidden in a pocket near the center of the undercarriage, so it doesn't show at all. What is visible at the rear are the dual stainless steel pipes. In addition, the exhaust tips on the Magnaflow are larger in diameter to accommodate the larger diameter pipes, and therefore look more aggressive. I am very satisfied with the setup.

The exhaust system fit perfectly, sounds great, and looks stylish. The exhaust tone is not overly loud, yet sounds much more powerful than the stock system did.

by:

Hardest part of installation was getting the truck high enough off the ground to get the factory exhaust over the axle. The new system was relatively easy and fit perfect. The spare tire does not fit underneath with this kit installed. I put a Tire Buddy in the bed to hold the full sized spare. The heavy duty factory receiver hitch is not in the way. System has a mellow purr that should be street legal everywhere yet is semi-aggressive. No blatting or popping. Chrome tips seem to always get black with soot and need to be cleaned often. This is a premium system and should last the life of your truck. It is well supported and doesn't vibrate. I highly recommend it. If Chevy had this as an option they would sell lots more trucks.

Bought the magnaflow exhaust for my 2015 GMC. Everyone says how great it sounds. Price was good and easy to install.

by:

Very good performance and sounds installed myself in driveway in under 45 minutes. service was great from e-trailer.

by:

I am well pleased with the system itself. This was actually a replacement under the warranty, and the previous system lasted seven years, here in the rust belt. Only complaint was the necessity of returning to manufacturer for inspection prior to receiving replacement. That meant my truck was down for about a month.

by:

Great customer care and service from Chris and the Etrailer employee's. Got back to me to let me know of a item was back ordered from a manufacturer, didn't try to over sell me on products, asked what I'd like to do. Helped me make changes to my purchase that I needed right away. Two days later they now have my business shopping loyalty from here on out. I can't thank you guys enough.

by:

nice and growly sounding, helpful tip spay some wd 40 on ends before fitting together, helps to slide the parts together easier.

by:

Product nice. Fit could be better for trans am. Tail pipes don't show. Had to make extensions. Works ok now

by:

I believe it is the best exhaust on the market for this application. only thing is the exhaust tip needs bent down more as it touches the body and will melt plastic.

by:

Nice addition, not too loud and yet good rumble. Easy installation and would recommend it.

by:

Not a great fit on my 2009This kit sounds and looks great, but the three bolt cat flange didnt fit my truck, it required machining to spread the holes further apart, just a heads up my honda ridgeline was built in june of 2009 and the install took 5 hrs because of this issue, however when finished it sounds and looks great.

by:

Not a direct FitSounds good but had to modify rear brackets and drill holes in the frame to install on 09 F150 crew cab..not impressed with fitment or installation time..modification time caused loss of profit..

by:

The MagnaFlow exhaust looks and sounds awesome. Not only that but the stainless steel construction and lifetime warranty gives me peace of mind.

by:

Excellent exhaust note through out the entire RPM range! Highly recommended this cat back system.

by:

Easy install, perfect fit on my 07 Tacoma. After computer reset, several miles, truck runs Awsome. Great seat of pants torque increase, combined with my Injen cold are intake truck is way quick and has much throatier note.
