Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting or splicing required.
Features:
Specs:
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Today we're going to take a look at the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness, with the four-way flat trailer connector. This is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2005 to 2009 Hyundai Tucson vehicles. Now in a custom fit part I always like to recommend go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now this hardness will provide this four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This is compatible with five pole, six pole, seven pole adapters that we do sell separately on our website. This hardness does connect very quickly and easily, there is no cutting or splicing of wires.
Basically just locate your connection points behind the taillights, plug in your connectors. You have two sets, one for each side, the set with the yellow wire is for the driver's side, you plug that in behind the driver's taillights. The one with the green wire in it is for the passenger's side, you plug that in to the behind taillight on the passenger's side, and then you just need to run your bonded wire here with the four-way on it out to the back to plug in to your trailer. Now it does include this taillight converter, this little box right here. This is to ensure your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. All the connectors used protect the connection terminals to help resist corrosion, and it does come with the parts also shown here.
It comes with this nice dust cap for your four-way, basically you can just attach this to your four-way connector. What's nice with the dust cap is when you're not plugged in to your trailer, you can just put it over the terminals like that, and it'll protect those terminals from any damage, or from the elements. You can just leave it on there also when you've plugged into the trailer. It makes it pretty handy, it also comes with a couple cable ties that take up any slack in the wiring, or also to attach the converter down to your vehicle. It comes with a nice packet of terminal grease, dielectric grease for your electrical connections. They do recommend when you do make your connections with this harness onto your vehicle, to use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections. When you plug this in to the connectors onto your vehicle, put some terminal grease on them, and even when you connect the four-way to your trailer, put some grease on that to help prevent corrosion.
On this harness, the maximum amperage for this, the stop and turn light circuits is two point one amps per circuit, and again there are a set of instructions with this, but it's pretty easy. Again, what I've mentioned is you have two sets of terminals, a set of terminals here with the yellow wire for the driver's side. That's run to the driver's side, plugged in, and the set of terminals with the green wire in it is for the passenger's side, plug that in, and then run your four-way out the back and you're ready to go. That should do it for the review on the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness, with the four-way flat trailer connector.

Hitch and wiring harness for my Hyundai Tucson
Fit perfectly, works right, and feels solid. I couldn't tell it from a factory install
Great product, did just what I was looking for. Installed in about 10 minutes.
Fairly easy to install. Works as it should. Yellow wire could be a little longer.
