Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the ATAK collapsible LED lantern here at etrailer. This is a nice addition to your camping, outdoor hiking adventures. So this is small, portable. You can see how this fits into my hand. And it's great to add as a supplementary light to your adventures.

What I like about this is that there's two ways to use it. ATAK has another lantern that just pops up and that's it. Here you have some settings that you get to work with. So the first thing you can do is turn it off and to turn it on. And once you do turn it on you have three different settings to go through.

The first is the strong light which has 100 lumens. The second, if you only slightly de-press the button you have it at 30%, which is the soft light. And then third is the strobe light. The strobe light is great for emergency situations. I definitely see this being used when you're in an emergency, like you're trying to get awareness show people that you're there or you're asking for help.

Here is in the closed position with the light turned on. I kind of like how this works 'cause then you still have a small amount of light that gives you a little bit more of a way to work with it. If you just need a little bit and if you want a little bit more, you open it up. The way it does open up and collapse as well as it has a little tab that it pops into. That way when you do have it in the closed position you don't have to worry about it accidentally coming undone or open since that is holding it secure.

In terms of portability, this has a nylon strap which I like because then you can attach it to your hooks, to your tents or in this case, you can put it on your bag just wrap it around and then hook it into place. This is made of heavy duty ABS plastic which makes it light, but also durable. It has an IPX4 rating. That means you can get water on it. It's slightly water resistant. So I'm going to, if you have heavy rain as you're hiking you don't have to worry about it. Just try not to submerge it in a lot of water. This comes with four AA batteries. And the way to access those batteries is to just rotate this lever, bring it down and you can see how you have those four batteries inside. I recommend taking up your own set of batteries though just in case, that way you know, they're fully charged and you'll be able to get the most life out of this lantern. What I did notice though with the batteries is if you don't put them in right or they are kind of loose, they can jostle out of place. I fixed them now, but every now and then if they are not in the perfect position, they can turn the light off if they're moved. At its brightest setting you have 100 lumens of light you can also see how it has a wide area of illumination. And then when you switch through you then have about 30 lumens of light which is at its 30% capacity of light. And then the strobe you also have all 100 lumens shining at you. My final thoughts about this light is I do like how compact it is. There are other collapsible lights from ATAK but I think this is one of my favorites especially due to how you don't have to worry about it coming undone as you are traveling. Now, this is one of your more affordable options. So if you need a little bit more light this might not be enough for you with only 100 lumens but if you just need a supplementary light for your camping, hiking trips, something attached to your bag as you travel this might be a pretty good option for you.
