HotSpot Mirror Placement
HotSpot mirrors are designed to be placed anywhere on your factory side-view mirror, but they are typically installed on the bottom outside corner of the mirror.
To determine the best placement of the HotSpot mirror, start by using a piece of folded tape to stick the spotter mirror to your factory mirror in the location that you think you would like the HotSpot to be. Once you tape the HotSpot in place, sit in your car to look through the blind spot mirror. If the HotSpot is not in the best place for you, keep adjusting the location of the mirror until it suits your needs. Once the mirror is in the best location, remove the folded tape, peel off the cover of the adhesive backing on the HotSpot, and apply it permanently.

Today we're going to be taking a look at the CIPA tinted HotSpot mirrors. These are two inch in diameter. Part number is CM49112. As you can see, we've got two inch mirrors here. These are going to have an adhesive backing that are going to stick right on to our factory mirror. Offers a little bit of a tint.
That's going to help to reduce that glare that we sometimes can get off of these mirrors, keep us safe especially in more sunny environments. These mirrors mounting directly onto our factory mirror are going to have about the same amount of vibration that you currently experience with your truck. If your mirrors vibrate, these are probably going to vibrate at least as much maybe just a little bit less. You definitely want to keep that in mind. Now, all we have to really do is clean off the surface of our mirror with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, pull the cover off, and we're going to stick these right on. These are designed with a little bit of a convex shape.
A little bit of a rounded shape that's going to widen that field of view or spread out the filed of view. We can see, we're going to get this attached to our truck here. Then we'll head out for a little bit of a test run. Just so that you can see the field of view, that's been added. Now, this comes as a two pack, so you'll have one for each side if you decide to go this route.
Typically, these are going to be more of a fleet use kind of a mirror. These are going to be ones that guys are going to buy in bulk and put them on a hundred different trucks. Now, let's head out on the road and we'll see what kind of difference this mirror can really make as we travel down the highway.
